in memorium
three day weekend, right? while you enjoy your barbeque, there is a a lot of dead veterans who ALLOW you to do this. from the revolutionary war, to our wars
Guadalcanal, valley forge, gettysburg, baghdad, fallujah, da-nang, makin atoll, okinawa, antietam, 1775 minute men, berlin, tripoly, ramadi, hamburger hill, pearl harbor, desert storm. i could go on and on. so while youre enjoying yourself on a 3 day weekend, be sure to have a 'reflective' memorial day, and not just a holiday.

As a veteran remember we do ask for any reminder like you just stated, we do what we do or what we did for those next to us. Every Vet is different but as for myself all I ask is don't say Happy memorial day, because for some of us it is a day of remembrance for those we have lost and those that are still fighting. One of the best things I have ever heard is "I am not a hero, but I have walked next to a few." Dark Silhouette is one of those and I am proud to call him my best friend.
