So i noticed that a few months back that Logmein went all payed to use. Does anyone have a similar service that they swear by that i could use? I've heard of people VPNing into remote desktop ?

I use Remote Desktop whenever possible. Other times, I need to use Team Viewer. TV is nice, you can create a contact list of the various PCs you need access to. On the PCs themselves, you can install the client so that you can have unattended access, or set it up so that someone must enable the connection.
TeamViewer is a good free alternative for the most part.
I RDP into my servers at home with RDP via RD Gateway, no VPN needed.
I totally agree with this, also TeamViewer even works pretty well on a mobile device (android and ios) or for small file transfers should the need arise...Quote:
