Ive been playing warthunder for a total of about a week, and have been in this clan for around 3 days since this post. I already have a spitfire mkIIb in britain, and in america i have a F4F-3. My favorite out of these both is the spitfire mkIIb, mostly because it is better for turn fighting, as well as a good overall plane. This is my favorite in tier 1/2, whenever i get a bit further will more than likely have a new fave :D.
anyone else's opinion on Your progress/skill achievement is as important in this game as making sure Your blinker fluid is full and Your muffler bearings are packed/lubed well in Your car....IMO here's what IS Important
1-Are You enjoying the game?It appears You are
2-Enjoying the clan?You are..Have You met Erk..this COULD change Your opinion...
3-Finding a "Fave' will be a challenge as Your skill-set will change/evolve,and You'll find new planes/ways to fight old planes!
Concentrate on having fun, supporting Your fellow squad/team-mates,and above all,remember it's a game Peter!Glad You're in the clan,hope to fly w/Ya soon!

As for best plane for Tier 1 / 2? Depends on your style and mode, really.
I love the Chaika. That little shit vulture turns on a dime, and can rip the unarmoured planes of 1 /2 to shreds. Throw some rockets on the thing (and learn how to aim them properly) and you can bring armoured targets down as well. This thing shines best in AB, where you can whip around and outturn everyone and everything without spiraling to your death like you would in the more realistic modes.
I also have a soft spot for the Spitfire II/b. Performs well for its tier, armed well for its tier, it's a very good brawler if you know what to do with it. Fantastic for RB.
The A6M2 is very nimble, and has a great flight profile. Very little pull. It's well armed, but is basically a flying tinder box. It's a great learning plane for SB.
P40 zoom and boom gave the Japanese hell in china with the avg1
What is best really depends on your preferred flight style and game mode. I for instance only fly in Realistic so my opinion is best on that mode and I have no preferred flight style. I'm equally happy boom and zooming or turning, my favorite planes are mostly the jack of all trade planes that allow you to adjust to any situation.. I just either enjoy a plane or it is a grind.
USA: P36G, HellCat, & P40 are all solid planes.
UK: Spitfire Mk2 or Beaufighter MkX
Rus: Chaika or SU2 M62
German: 109E1 is an extremely under rated aircraft. It handles pretty similar to the E3, but unlike the E3 you have shit tons of ammo. I've finished rounds with 6 human air kills and still had 30% of my ammo left. So I never had to land that whole round.
Japs: You can never got wrong with a zero, any variant of the zero is fun.
Well My Favorite Plane ( Overall ) Is The I-16 Type 28...Yes The Tier 2 Russian... It Maneuvers Great , Has Amazing Fire Power And You Get A Bonus Of 6 Rockets...

have to agree if I want to go clubbing I take the I-16. but my fav is the P-40. I look at it as a jack of all trades yet a master of none. I love the spit but hate it when it bogs down to do a dive. I've tried to do the flip then dive like the RL pilots did but plane still bogs down. just a weekness it had for a time. still a great plane.
