The first expansion for Guild Wars 2 has just been announced!! It will be called 'Heart of Thorns', and will feature some long awaited content.
Included will be Guild Halls finally, as well as a new profession, the Revenant. A new 'mastery' system for level 80 characters is also in there, allowing you to learn a weapon type previously unavailable to you while earning precursor weapons for forging Legendary weapons. PVP is seeing an update as well, with a new map region for WvW and a new game mode. Guilds will be able to battle each other too, with an overall leaderboard to climb.
Personally, I am super excited about this, and I'll probably start playing again. I didn't see anything about a price, but it will probably be the industry standard $60.
For those who don't know, GW2 is a 'retail' game. There is no subscription once you buy the game, and you can play as much as you want forever without having to pay a dime. There are however optional microtransactions.
