Graphics Card dead

Yep, it's dead, after only 1 year :dead:. It was an ASUS R9 270.
Cause of death: a VRAM chip died. Probably because it was around 33-37 deg C in my room at noon for the past week. Case is pretty well cooled however, CPU stayed below 60 deg C and GPU below 75, with reported motherboard temperature today of 36-37 deg C.

This means I won't be playing War Thunder :banghead: until I get it replaced, luckily it's still under warranty so I hope to get a replacement next week.

These were the last pixels it displayed the last time I managed to boot it up.

Make me sound like a total nerd, but that's why I keep a spare less powerful card just in case. Still, sucks that happened mate! Hopefully you get a new one ASAP!

ASAP apparently means up to 3 weeks. Holy crap my country sucks. Until then I'm stuck with an old ATI HD4550 which can only run the game at 30fps in the menu on min settings, 25fps max with tanks (unplayable) and 40-70fps with planes, but it looks awful. I used to play at twice the framerate on maximum setting preset.

I might be able to borrow a GTX280 until I get a replacement.

Double-checked and it's between 1 and 15 calendar days, not work days. Hopefully I'll have it back early next week.

Man a dead graph card sucks.
Anyway I have been playing WT with 20/35 fps in air and 10/15 fps in tank battles and still getting kills.you will do fine you just have to get used to the lower fps.

I used to play games like that for several years before I've built my current PC. It ruins my immersion in the game so I'd rather wait until I get back to something decent. Unless you want me continuously cursing my temporary graphics card on teamspeak...

(Under)powered by a Gigabyte Radeon HD 4550, 512MB DDR3 64-bit 1500MHz which is actually 17 or 18 times worse than the R9 270. The VRAM is also worse than the RAM on my mobo (1600MHz DDR3 Dual Channel - which means the bus width is 128 bits). Here's a screenshot from the hangar at min fps.

Guess what... BAD NEWS.

I called the service center and the stupid bitch over there told me that they received the card on the 27th of July (I dropped it at the store on the 24th) and the 15 days legal term is since then although on my warranty turn-in papers it says 15 days from the 24th which apparently seems to mean absolutely nothing. I wasn't informed about the three day delay because in my country F*** CUSTOMERS is a standard practice. Also, guess what: f***ing pyramid scheme. Store ---> Courier ---> Service center ---> Authorized service center. This means craploads of paperwork just to get a graphics card to warranty.

I will supposedly have it back on Monday although I doubt it. If that doesn't happen they're in neck-deep shit. ALL of them. F*** Romania.
3 weekends without a proper graphics card. I managed to borrow an ATi 5670 so I could play planes (nope, no tanks at decent framerate).

Ouch artifacts ...

Well for now its better than nothing right? Really sucks that they sucks at customer service!
