Default Need help with fan placement.

So, I recently built a new gaming pc to get back into pc gaming (DUH!)
I have the following issue with my case/built:

I installed 2 120mm fans in the front as intake and 1 120mm fan in the back as exhaust. I started to notice my front fans were barely taking in any air and it resulted in my rear exhaust fan pulling air in from the side panel, where 2 filters are located for side fans.

Would it be benficial if I took out the 2 front fans and placed them on the side panel as intake fans? They dont bring any air in from the front while my front panel is on anyway.
My case is the Sharkoon VS4-S by the way.

Thats kinda counter productive since the 2 front fans are barely taking in air to begin with. I noticed that with my front panel off the air flow from the front fans is pretty good, so im gonna cut out a hole on my front panel so there's plenty of air for the front fans to take in.

You should try moving the two fans from the front to the side. That should provide plenty of air flow to the CPU without having to mangle your case.

I tried a couple configurations and loaded up Prime95 for a couple of hours to see what the best option would be.
2x fans in the front as intake with front panel on: max cpu temp 73c
2x fans on the side panel as intake: max cpu temp 66c
2x fans in the front as intake with front panel off: max cpu temp 58%

Guess what im gonna do :)

Sounds to me like you have the traditional symptom of "more fans is always better".

Seriously though, finding the way air flows through your case is always a good idea as if you are air cooling and worried about temps (or want to OC on air) getting a good flow is important. I used to use a jostick to create some smoke & then watch where it goes. Ideally you need something that produces more smoke, then you watch where the smoke "pools" inside the case to see where the dead spots are and the general flow, that way you can eliminate/adjust the flow via fan placements.

Also the bezel's do make a big difference depending on the case, some cases are designed to have 120mm fans or 140mm fans up front so have a permeable front.

Personally I have a CM690 II case, extra air filters in front of all fans, a 140mm at the front bottom and at the bottom (the case is raised off the floor) two at the top of the case (heat rises) and 2 120mm on the cpu cooler in a push pull config, the load temp of my 4690k is normally around 30-33c, ambient varies up to 20c (in the room)
