    Default Nvidia GTX 1080 Benchmarks.

    http://www.3dmark.com/fs/8860174

compare with your own to see if it is worth the upgrade for you guys.

EVGA SC ACX 3.0 runs at full tilt in VR at 65c. Got a good enough OC on it.

Mine gets around 19,4XX on basic firestrike Have a MSI gaming x. Honestly any of the 1080's founders or not are capable of the same OC speeds within the norm. Some of the unicorns I saw were upwards of 2150 overclocks. Additional power hasn't helped them out much so for anyone looking just get the one you want. I burn 1440p and keep well over 120 frames. What also helps is CPU for firestrike, I have a 6700k @ 4.5 could go more but a 5960x overclocked was getting 23k in the same benchmark.

That being said, your mileage will vary depending on cpu and other system variables. Gaming? Not so much because they are worlds apart from benchmarks.

agreed 100%. I actually downclock my OC on my 4930k to 4.25 in summer time from 4.5 just because it is hot as f out.

Here is mine. Running the GTX 1080 Founders Edition at all base clocks so I expected it to be a little lower on the score:

    http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/12971133

I had the fan cranked up to 100% to see if it would combat any thermal throttling and I didn't catch any dips and the temperature stayed at around 60 degrees Celsius.

Going to tinker around with upping the clocks while still running it on air and keeping the fan at 100%. Surprisingly enough, at least in my opinion, the reference cooler on this card is quieter than my 980 Ti ACX 2.0 when cranked up to 100%. I am guessing it may just be the nature of the fans (and this is the first kind of card I've ever used that was a reference model and had a cooler like this).

How does the ACX 3.0 sound at full tilt?

May see if any CPU upticks via OC have any impact as well :)

This will be a good reference to go back to once I get around to running everything on a fully custom loop.

Ah...just was comparing the results and saw that your tests were running at 1920x1080 vs. mine at 2560x1440 :)

Out of curiosity, what kind of monitor are you running on? Asking because of refresh rate playing into that as well. The display I ran the test on was running a native 165 Hz refresh rate.

    I have the X34 ( 3440 x 1440 100hz )

    here is my 2560 x 1440 score http://www.3dmark.com/fs/8843390

the ACX is awesome ... no coil whine ( shocking my 980ti had a slight whine at some points ) and it runs soooo much cooler. With my custom fan curve everything runs nice it is at 65c on load and 60 on the fan speed :)

I would only get founders if I was gonna SLI or water em.

Yeah, I also had a bit of the coil whine on my 980 Ti ACX 2.0. And if I compare the overall noise level of that at 100% to the cooler of the 1080 Founders Edition at 100%, the 1080 Founders Edition is much, much quieter.

I certainly can't wait to get the 1080 water block in and get the loop going to then run more tests. Hoping to set up some tonight and see what kind of results I get with some of the different settings.

    Stay tuned :)

I hope they come up with a NVFLASH for you if you are going to water cool it :)

I change parts too often for me to water cool ( I work at a Micro Center )

It's an EK waterblock. Will be ordering this weekend. Just looked around and it seems that there is a current / valid NVFLASH available.

I change parts often, too. Just built this one in January, now "refreshing" with a completely custom loop. First time I've ever dabbled in the arena of an open loop cooling system, though, so I'm taking my time :)

There's a Micro Center about 10 minutes from my house. Still trying to figure out if it's a blessing or a curse ;) Love it anyway, though.

(See my Phase II build thread if you haven't already)

Just did some new 3DMark tests with some OC'ing in place:

CPU: 4.20 GHz (up from previous 4.00 GHz. May try bumping up to 4.40 GHz)

GTX 1080 Founders Edition (still on air)...

    - Core Voltage: 100%
    - Power Limit: 120%
    - Temp. Limit: 85 degrees Celsius
    - Core Clock: +175 MHz
    - Memory Clock: +575 MHz
    - Fan Speed: 100%

In running Fire Strike with this config, the highest the temp hit was 64 degrees Celsius. The core clock hit as high as 2076 MHz. Didn't catch what the effective memory got up to. Will log results and run again.

    Results: http://www.3dmark.com/fs/9203032

Not sure what the deal is with the "Invalid Score" and the "Timing Measurement Inconsistency". Wonder if it's due to what the OC settings are? Anyone know?

    Also, forgot to note...

Running at a resolution of 2560x1440 @ 144Hz refresh rate.

Noticed too that been running tests with G-Sync enabled. Will see if results change in forcing both G-Sync and V-Sync off in the NCP :)

With g-sync off even at 144hz or unlocked FPS its terribly noticeable, especially flying or quick action games. I suggest keep it on lol. Maybe it was just because the monitor caps at 144 and 200 fps wasn't gonna play nice.

Heh, I was JUST about to reply and say just about that exact same thing!

Results were noticeably lower and definitely choppy. It also seemed like having G-Sync off made the GPU have to work a little harder (oddly enough, but it makes sense because technically when you're not using G-Sync and it would help, the card is having to do a bit more work to "think" about what to do next and keep up).

I'm still waiting when Supply and Demand will even out and then I can go grab ASUS ROG Srix GTX 1080 OC from the store at reasonable price.

I'm from Canada and usually shop at Canada Computers since they have always best deals there. Just waiting when they will have stock on those cards and lower the price. Initially it was $919 CAD and now it is $969 CAD. Right, now I can pre-order it but I think once they will be stocked up on shelves the price will go down as low as $919 CAD or even below that. I see that they finally are getting stock on some cards and probably will be good in about a week or so. I assume that by August it will be stocked up and prices will go to normal.
They have GTX 1070 Strix none OC stocked up but that's not what I"m looking at:
