    Default optical drive problems

    my optical drive is not responding to my computer, i put in a movie and it wouldnt play but if i put in my windows cd it will read it, im not sure how to fix this problem any help would be great

    sounds like you do not have the correct drivers for it. what programs were you trying to use to watch the movie and have you watched a movie on your computer before.

    You need a dvd decoding driver. These are often supplied with media players now. If you are running Windows 8 or 8.1, you probably don't have this by default, unless you opted for the Windows Media Player extension. My recommendation for occasional videos is VLC; my recommendation for frequent watching is Kodi.
