Ever notice how fast Windows runs? Neither did I
Error on new computer
I just bought a Lenovo y-50 gaming computer, i was using it yesterday when i got a blue screen error. The message on the bottom read Driver_Power_State_Failure.
The computer is only 3 days old with steam, teamspeak, and Firefox only downloaded. anyone know what the fix is for this.
thanks

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue
I had a friend encounter the same issue a while ago.
Turned out to be a simple fix of the drivers having some sort of software conflict when they were updated.
I cant remember whether it was the updated drivers which were causing the issue or the originals.
Have a tinker with updating/re-setting the drivers and see how you go
[Edit] - A quick google backs me up on this (thankfully!) and turns up a few results saying that the most likely culprit is the 'Screendriver'.
Try and update/reset that first

Criminal Lawyer is a redundancy
Error on new computer
Does your laptop use the Intel graphics driver for everyday and then switch to the nvidia card during 3D? I had an issue with my graphics system and it turned out that I needed to reinstall the newest Intel HD drivers after I updated the nvidia drivers.

Call in a favor. Call in every favor you can. It might add up to a chance
I know that there is a command that tests all of your drivers. driververifier.exe I believe. If you run that, it will test all of your drivers and will detect which one it is by causing the exact same bluescreen, which must then be fixed from there. (windows might automatically fix it.)

Can I have your Tots
If it's only 3 days old I would try calling Lenovo tech support. With it being so new, they may be aware of the issue and know how to fix it. I worked on a laptop once where the screen brightness would fully dim. Since it was within warranty I called Lenovo and they remoted in, tried a few things, then restored the factory display driver and it worked like a charm. Some Windows Updates drivers just don't play well with certain manufacturers.
It would make sense that this is a similar issue with you considering it was a few days after you got it that it first started happening. You've probably had a ton of Windows Updates install in that time frame and one of them has fouled things up. Since you're easily still under warranty, I say let them remote in and make it their problem!

you may want to try driver booster from iobit.com the free version is fine and i noticed fewer crashes since even on games known to crash such as fallout NV sometimes out of date drivers will do it
http://www.iobit.com/driver-booster.php
it may take a few minutes where it says its downloading at only 16kbps but then itll dl much faster for the actual drivers just make sure you check the 'restart after install' or something like that just in case it updates your video drivers and you get nothing but a black screen till it restarts happened to me once

Keep honking. I'm reloading
Can you upload the minidump file?
it is located in C:\Windows\Minidump
This will offer more details about what went wrong, as well as the software or component which caused it.
