Disk Space Error

hello, so im getting a error when downloading a certain game on steam saying Disk Write Error but i have 1.5TB available is there a way to like change the download location onto like a external? and if there is how do i do it?, thank you!

When I literally cut and pasted my game files from one drive to another, some games automatically recognized, some games i had to "install" and when directed to the right drive and path, didn't need to download anything because it was all there, and some all I had to do was verify the cache.
That being said, some games kept their saves, while others acted like fresh installs. (Steam even thought I had only played FO3 for 5 minutes when I had actually reached the part where I find liam neeson and he dies)
Did you do a disk check on the drive? maybe it's failing?

yes i did a disk check and its working, its only 1 game that causes the issue

Is it a steam game? You can backup the game and restore the backup if so pretty easily. If it is on steam.

Backup the game data
Head into Steam Settings > Downloads - Top option is Steam Library Folders. You can setup different drives to house your steam library if you want, and specify the default library for new installs too.
Once new location is setup, go restore the game backup, and have it restore it to the alternate steam library.

I have a 1TB for steam games, but i also have a library on the local C: drive which is SSD for a few of my choice games, so this works great. As a general rule, you can usually just grab the entire Steam folder, or Origin games folder if it is Origin, and back up the whole thing to another drive. After reinstalling software on a fresh computer, you can overright the same folder with the backed up data and it will take it and create the appropriate links to make the games 'installed' on the system. Steam does the especially well.
