Interesting I've played PlanetSide 2 and let's just say...

So i've decided to try out PlanetSide2 and i was very pissed that when i turn down my graphics for PS2 it still causes my computer to be laggy af. How can you guys even sprint in that game without lagging out so hard even though you turned down the graphics.

I give PlanetSide2 a 2/10 score, meaning it just sucks.

Check the system requirements, it's a fairly demanding game.

Well, might we inquire as to the specifications of your computer?

Judging from your post here: http://www.clanaod.net/forums/showthread.php?t=106653 where you say you have a "regular Dell desktop" I can assume that you have a fairly low end desktop. Planetside 2, while a couple of years old, is a very demanding game.

You really shouldn't judge a game because it doesn't run well on a rather low end system. That's like saying a Marshall 1959SLP Plexi sounds like shit because you're playing a $100 guitar through it. Planetside 2 is a very fun game, and it's very well made.

I would really recommend you either look into buying a better computer to play these games at a better quality, or at the very least looking at the minimum requirements to play said game and seeing if your computer can even run them well. With a lower end desktop like I'm assuming you have, you really shouldn't expect to play any games past maybe 2005 with good graphics and have them run well.

It's not very graphically demanding compared to a lot of game now a days. The trouble with PS2 is it is VERY CPU heavy due to the size of combat zones (96+ Vs 96+). Also don't rate a game saying it sucks if you can't even play it. Obviously it doesn't "suck" as it is AOD largest division with well over 500 active member.

Its all personal preference. The game is great but with such large scale battles and graphics it can be a challenge to run. I would recommend checking out my performance thread in my signature. It can give you some pointers on what options to turn down or off and how to get the best FPS possible. If you dont have a quad core cpu or decent GPU you WILL have some trouble with FPS.

To be honest, most people get 20-30 fps in most large fights unless you have a great rig. Its just how the game is.

PS2 has it's ups and downs. I've played it for several months and i'm a BR 75 odd in all three factions. I have a fairly new Dell XPS and I run all the graphics on minimum and get good (30-60fps) frame rates. Higher graphics quality just slows the game to a crawl during large battles, which is the reason I play PS2.

Upsides: lots of classes, vehicles, weapons, F2P but NOT P2W, very large battles. If you're a FPS ace you'll get lots of kills and have a ball. If you like to play support like me, you're right at home in big battles. I can make lots of in game cash just playing support. If you like tanks or air, there they are.

Downsides: Horrible learning curve, although DBG is working on making PS2 more newbie friendly. F2P is very grindy. NO balance at all, ever. The goal of most battles is to have twice the numbers of your enemy, then you win. You die constantly and 3/4 of the time you have no idea who killed you: snipers, maxes, explosive spam, aircraft spam, tank spam. Server population has nose dived in the past couple of months and a lot of chatter says the game is dying.

The game isn't dying, there are just some new games on the scene that are taking up some of the pop. Give it a few months and the pop will come back.

They'll come back they always do! PS2 is one of those games that even if you're gone for a few months you can easily pick up right where you left off.

PS2 is fairly fun and you have plenty of people waiting to help you out.

Can't say anything about warframe but I have a friend who plays it nonstop every day.

Well as a huge fan of Warframe i do recommend it to anyone, it's fun and we have a great division over here. As for planet side 2 i have always wanted to try it but the learning curve has deterred me so far. looks awesome though...so does ark....riding dinosaurs and stuff...now if only we could get a dinosaur in Warframe.

It's not too bad, it just takes a few days to get used to, plus there is a tutorial now. Feel free to come down and ask questions if you have them. I'd recommend starting out as a support class first, but that's just me.

It is even easier to get started in PS2 now. You get 100 certs per level up till level 15. You damn kids have it so good these days. Back in my day we had to grind certs uphill in the snow, barefoot, walking on broken glass. BOTH WAYS!
