Video Tip Thread
Whats up guys
First off, if you guys are wondering, I've been making these on iRacing because it's super simple to make videos on due to various tools available that Project Cars doesn't have and Fraps doesn't crash it. Fraps always crashes my Project Cars for some reason and it takes me much longer to throw a video together using Project Cars footage.
Anyways, I'm going to try to do one of these per week or two. Take my advice with a grain of salt, as I am no perfect driver my any means. It is mostly going to be about struggles I'm having, how I rectified them, as well as a reference for me to return to whenever I find myself stuck with my progression as a driver. Some of the stuff may be blatantly obvious, some may be advanced driving techniques. It's just going to be whatever I feel is important at the time with my driving, and if anyone else finds it useful that's great!
Tip #1 (Take a step back)
-Don't forget it's all about fun. There is always going to be someone faster and someone slower. I have been trying to push and push myself to be the fastest I can be and it's been compromising my consistency. I finally just decided to back off and instead of running 100% balls to the walls, to just run a little bit less. I may not hit my hotlap pace everytime, but I damn sure get closer to it now than when I was trying to squeeze every last drop of performance out of the car. If your struggling with keeping the car under control, you don't have to sacrifice much to get back to the point where your totally comfortable. Just back off say 3%. Through consistency comes skill, through skill comes speed. I felt like I was at the end of a learning curve and didn't know where to go. Now I think I have found my new learning process and this a whole new curve begins.
