I'm something of a "stick-in-the-mud" here. For something to fit my definition of "music", I need to understand the words (if it is in a language I understand) and I need to be able to whistle the tune. If you can't whistle it, it's not a tune. ;-)

^Duh yeah^ That's not singing, it's shouting and growling. No melody, no harmony, no chord changes.
Sorry Caash, maybe I'm too old or something, but metal is not music to me. I love rock, but this doesn't even qualify as rock, it's just noise.

while I agree with RayRay to a point, there is "Musical" metal. Many of the metal bands from Metals formative years are incredible musicians and writers. I submit Deep Purples "Space Truckin' as a example.Widely considered to be the first "metal' song,it features chromatic chord changes, tempo arrangements making use of off-tempo pentameter singing, and use of the "Growl' lyrical style w/out being unintelligible. I submit many of the following bands "Sabbath, Judas Priest,Metallica,Megadeth,Black Label society among a few" are incredible musicians/artists whom are musical.Trivium is a band that came out in the "Grunge had a metal baby w/a meth head" atmosphere.Combining chaotic chords of grunge, with the thick-metal based guitar sound while some dude wails/whines/growls about His Father/Mother/Wife/Abuse/Drugs/Moneyj is not music, personally. If I had to pick a AOD "Song' It'd Be Iron Maidens "Run to the hills'.I know "Aces high' is spitfire driven/WWII song, however it's not only "expected' to be used, but not as definitive of AOD's play style. We hit the objective, hard,We come in a pack, and we do so until the enemy is high-tailing it for the hills!
