    Default Looking for a Headset

So I'm in need for a nice and better headset. Mine I don't dislike in any respect, other than 2 problems: the cord is all chewed up, and its mic and audio jack, so everybody hears my ingame audio (big problem). So basically what do you guys have, what do you guys recommend, all that. Thanks!

Dont' buy a headset, buy headphones + mic. Headsets are usually overpriced for the quality you get, like almost everything with "gaming" stamp to it. With separate mic you will also be able to swap just the mic or just the headphones in case one of them dies.

If you need sound isolation get closed back headphones, if you don't need it get open back, as you will get a better sound space with them.

Look for ones with removable cables.

Don't bother with features like surround sound, virtual or real, it's a gimmick. Normal stereo headphones will get you good 3d representation on the battlefield, and if you can still get virtual surround by downloading free drivers. Personally i find it not worth the loss in quality with virtual surround. Real surround headphones will actually have more physical drivers inside them, so the drivers will be smaller, therefore you will get less quality audio.

I have Sennheiser HD 558 and Samson Meteorite mic, which cost me around 170 + 40 €, but you can get some solid headphones and a boom mic for something like 40 + 5 $.

You can get a Logitech G230 from Amazon for $35 or from New Egg for $40.

Having a set of headphones + mic can cause a lot of background noise for only a $5-$10 savings. In my opinion, get a Logitech. Good products & good quality mics.

Otherwise, I hear Turtle Beach are really cheap in USA. I would still go for the Logi. Here's one for $10. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...0008-_-Product

Depends on your price range. The only headset I recommend is the Sennheiser PC360. Quality sound and a decent mic.

I personally use the Plantronics GameCom 780 and find it's an awesome headphone/mic combo set with noise cancellation for it's price (80 USD)

    FTW!!

I have the 360's and they should be banned! You can hear every single detail in game, it's like cheating!

Personally, I use the Logitech G930's and I like the wireless, but they can be a little hanky sometimes if you are close to a microwave or your Wi-fi, as with all wireless headsets. I would buy the new Artemis Spectrums if you can afford it, if not go with a G430 or something. I highly recommend all Logitech G products. I use the Orion Spark and the Proteus Core in addition to my headsets.

Sennheiser 558 + Antlion Modmic. I use the Vmoda Pro instead of the Modmic but either way you are getting amazing sound quality/comfort for less than $150.
