    Default No Budget Gaming Laptop

    Good Morning Everyone,

So i am looking to pickup a laptop that i can travel with that plays games as well as a good quality PC. I know this will be difficult because I really don't want to carry around a textbook size device that requires a lot of support to make it work that I might as well have thought a way to bring my mini-itx with me.

I currently use the lenovo y50 i bought mine for around $850, i really do like it and it plays all the games i like pretty smoothly. I picked mine up on cyber Monday so it may not be that cheap all of the time. You can pick things like a 4k screen, more ram, etc.

I have an Asus ROG G750 with 17 inch screen. It is a little over a year old, plays Star Citizen on max settings flawlessly (though I admit the battery gets hot after 30 mins or an hour). The computer never gets hot and totally rocks. Asus computers are expensive but for gaming, it would be hard to beat one.

Alienware has quite a bit going on with the "Alieneware Gaming Amplifier" they are currently offering.

You can use a GTX 980 Ti on a 13 inch laptop. Full desktop card. And external monitor. For when you want "Ultra" PC gaming with no qualms.

Right now, I'm very seriously debating getting the 13 inch. (13, 15, 17, etc) are the offers.

I'm looking at an i7-6500U, 8 gigs of ram, and a GTX 960M, a 500GB & 128GB SSD combo, a GTX 980 in the External Amplifier (I have a 980 in my current PC build, I figure I can always use it in SLI if I end up not liking the external amp) and a touch screen 3200x1800. Altogether I'm looking at
    2649$

for it to be a hybrid laptop.

I'm torn. I dropped almost 5k on my desktop. And I love it. But I want a similar high end performance for the 8+ hours a day I'm at college. (only 4 hours spent in class usually).

I'm not a fan of Alienware since the Dell buyout. The ONLY thing that pushed me in this direction at ALL is the External desktop card. I love the idea of being able to upgrade my card over time.
