Some mouses i recommend is the
roccat tyon due to being pretty big and having many buttons plus the easy shift to let you do anything in many games. even mmos. http://www.roccat.org/en-US/Products/Gaming-Mice/Tyon/
I have used it and i loved it. i sold it after buying the razer deathadder because i wanted a mouse that works great for competetive gaming and im loving it still.
Check out the roccat tyon though. its pretty big compared to many mouses.

I haven't really used a lot of gaming mouses, but two of my favorite from the ones I've tried out are the Logitech G700 and the Logitech G700s.

I used the G700 for years, and had an issue with it, so Logitech sent me a G700s for free, and I got to keep my G700 which pretty much works fine except for one of the side buttons!
Though I love it, and the size of it is nice, I can put my whole hand on it practically, and it has a nice thumb rest also.

    The biggest consideration when getting mice I have ever found is actually something really hard to assess;
    Size of your hand.
Compared to "normal" - which is why its hard to assess, reviewers do not take it in to consideration that often when reviewing beyond saying tis "slightly big" etc.

I have smaller hands so most mice I use I find quite big, also I grip them in a "peculiar manner" as I have been told. But as I said it is all subjective. The best you can do is go to pc shops etc and see what sort of mouse fits well to your hand and work from there. Sorry to not be more help

I would recommend the 8k optical. It seems optical senors are the way to go according to my breif research.

+1 for the M65, was a massive upgrade from the Logitech G9x I was using, TONS of customization options and feels great with the all aluminum body.

Honestly if the M65 came as optical I would be all over that shit, but the hardware acceleration found in laser mice is a pretty big downside imo

Not to say that ALL acceleration is bad, but it's much better to use more stable and less permanent software acceleration, many games have their own acceleration settings you can use anyway

Im in the market for a new mouse myself now, and I'm thinking the Corsair Sabre or the G502 Proteus Spectrum

That QPAD 8k optical is tempting tho...

If you play FPS games get the Final Mouse and if you play MMO's get a Razer Naga, if youre more of a variety gamer the Razer Deathadder should do the trick!

as far as laser vs optical goes, I will say, I never had a problem with my cheapo optical logitech wireless mouse, but just the other night i found that my m65 for some reason would only move diagonally...checked the sensor for dirt/dust/whatever, and nothing. cleaned it anyway, and it fixed the issue, seemingly. Never had that problem with an optical mouse.
That being said, I do perform better in games with the m65 vs my old mouse. but that could just be me getting better, or the simple difference in quality.

I don't like wireless mice or keyboards. They always fail on you at the worst moments. If you want a mouse, I bought myself a Perixx MX-2000IIB three years ago and it is still working as well as the first day. It has an adjustable weight system, DPI switches (I've never used them), a braided cord that never grabs on anything. 2 side buttons and a very tactile scroll wheel. The driver that comes with it is excellent, allows you to set up multiple profiles for different games that you can set up to switch with the DPI switches. It has no acceleration that I can tell, since I disable it in the menu. I bought another for my work computer and it works well too so no QC issues so far. All that for under $30. http://www.amazon.com/Perixx-MX-2000...7RK6ZTPKMFCTRM

I have the standard Perrix MX-2000 and I love it. It's great for every game situation, though I do wish it had a few more buttons... But, it's a great mouse!

I'll add my three cents (I'm Canadian so I'm including exchange rate):

I have been using a Logitech G500s for a couple of years and it's great as a daily driver and for gaming - it's sturdy and comfortable with a good set of features, so if I am upgrading I would put their gear at the top of my list. While I'm shilling Logitech I also have a G430 headset - very comfortable, nice sound quality, blocks out a lot of external sound with great-fitting headphones and no trouble at all.
