I had really outgrown my 8 year old Cooler Master CM690 case. It was my second build in this case and with 2 All-in-one coolers inside it made proper air flow a problem due to the length of the hoses coming off those coolers. The only way to mount the radiators was to have them pull air from inside the case and then through the radiator, obviously not an ideal setup as you are using hot air from the case to cool hotter liquid in the radiator. Add to that the mess of wiring (mostly due to my laziness on the initial install) that restricted fresh air moving through the case and my cooling capacity wasn't what I wanted. So I decided to shop for a new case and settled on the Corsair 600Q (http://www.corsair.com/en-us/carbide...ull-tower-case). I liked the idea of an inverted layout, no traditional hard drive cage, and sound dampening without sacrificing airflow too much. There is also a fan controller built in. Its 3 speed controller is adjusted with a switch on the top of the case near the power button.

After getting everything installed and running I can say that the case is a pleasure to work on. Plenty of space for routing your wiring behind the motherboard tray and the lack of hard drive cage at the front of the case gives you SOOO much room to work with. Up to three 2.5" SSDs can be mounted behind the mobo tray and there is space for two 3.5" hard drives near the power supply. (photo attached, not mine). You can also see the ample amount of rubber grommets to bring your cables right where you need them on the mobo.

I was very happy with the finished product. I was able to mount the CPU radiator on the bottom of the case where it is able to bring in fresh air instead of using warm air from inside the case. The GPU radiator is mounted on the front of the case. Again, brings in fresh air to cool the radiator. Cable management is now light years ahead of what i had previously.

The only real issue that i had is the the GPU hoses weren't quite long enough and if I tried to stretch them to reach it would bend the GPU PCB. Obviously not acceptable. To solve it i took an old fan and pulled the guts out of it to basically make an 1" extension. All that is left of the donor fan is the outside frame.

I don't have a screenshot of my temps on the previous build but my GPU temps would hover around 58C-60C under load and CPU around 60C-62C.

The temps from the 600Q really blew me away! The GPU (GTX970) never went over 50C and the CPU (FX-8350) plummeted to 42C-43C while playing SW Battlefront on Endor. (attached)



I highly recommend this case to anyone who is in the market. Corsair makes top notch stuff and this is no exception!
