Greetings Potential Recruit,
The following is our LOA policy (There is a copy of this in the member's only forums [with working links], in which you may reference as well). You should note, we usually NEVER say an LOA is not approved, unless it's for a reason such as: you don't like any of the games AOD hosts and you're trying to keep your rank or you are playing with another clan until you want to play with AOD again).
Anyone can put in for an LOA at any time. Leaves of Absence are for members who are going to be away from the clan for more than 20 days.
If you are going away for 20 days or less, an LOA is not needed.
It is a good idea to put in for an LOA rather than just going MIA. In order to keep our roster current, we do periodic removals of members who are showing no signs of activity in the forums, Ventrilo, and in-game, in that order. Members who do not put in an LOA get caught in the removals are removed from the clan. Of course, they are welcome to come back whenever they are able to, however will start again at the rank of Recruit.
Reasons for valid LOAs are as follows:
Other possible reasons will be considered on a case by case basis, but these are the main ones.
All LOAs must have an end date. Open ended LOAs are not accepted.
This can be to the day, or to the month. [Example: "I'll be back around the end of June."]
Unacceptable reasons for an LOA include:
"I'm bored of this game, I'll be back when an update comes out."
"I'm joining another clan, but I want to stay with AOD just in case things don't work out."
"AOD doesn't have any games supported that I want to play."
Other unacceptable LOAs will be made apparent to members as they arise.
Members who allow their LOAs to run out, or fail to appear in Vent or in the forums, will be removed at the next round of inactivity removals.
We'll see you when you get back!
1. Create a thread in The Boneyard.
Thread Title: LOA "Name"
LOA [Date of Departure] to [Date of Return]
Thread Title: LOA Scrub
LOA 3/6/14 to 4/8/14
2. Change your AOD Member Status.
Put the appropriate LOA, we will no longer do this for you. If you are going away it is up to you do this, and not at our fault if you are removed for not doing it.
