My friend has Gigabyte Windforce, and he's really happy with it. It has 3 fans, and generally more and bigger fans = quiet.

I use an MSI 970 because of the design and the fans turn off when not needed (silent). Also MSI usually bundle games with the 970. I got Rainbow Six Seige, and right now you can get The Division

I always buy EVGA because of their warranty. 3 years and you are allowed to take off the stock cooler and use an aftermarket option instead. They have amazing customer service also

The EVGA ACX 2.0 coolers have the silent feature also.

What ever you decide on I'm sure you will be happy with it!

I also have always gone with EVGA, if you're looking to get longevity out of your card maybe go for the water cooled version (not sure if they have one) or if you may be upgrading in a year or two just go with something on the lower end. Either way EVGA makes great cards.

I have the MSI OC edition. Bought it during the Christmas sale on Newegg. It has worked great for me. I haven't run into any games that I've had to turn down settings for yet. I'ts a great card, and I highly recommend it.

The 970 FTW has the highest clock speed in the EVGA lineup.

And has the best binned chip of the EVGA line. If you get an FTW or Hybrid, they typically have the best binned chips of their respective types.

There were some issues with the EVGA 970 when it first came up, not sure if all of that has been resolved. I've got a MSI OC'd and absolutely love it. Great overclocking too.

If you want best bang for your buck, the Gigabyte has the highest clockspeed and best OC. Keep it mind that it is pretty large so you might want to go for EVGA, Asus, or MSI for size.

Yep, the Windforce cards are gigantic. My dad got a Windforce 980 and it's HUGE. Like, a good 50% bigger than my SSC 970.

Gigabyte cards are definitely the biggest ones out there.
