π Tips
Ever wish you could pull up that Steam Servers list without having to open a full steam window? Or just double click to get your Friends list up? Well, here's how I did it:

1. Right-click-drag & drop any Steam game shortcut onto the same desktop where it resides. Select "Copy here" from the menu given. This creates a copy of the short cut.

2. Right-click the copy and select "Properties".

3. On the "Web Document" tab, change the "URL" entry from steam://rungameid/###### to steam://open/friends .

4. Clicked the "Apply" button and test the shortcut with a double-click. It should open your Steam Friends list.

If the steam friends list is already open, it won't do anything.
I renamed the short cut to "Friends" for clarity.
You can get fancy and press "Change Icon" and make the short cut look like your Steam icon instead of the game's icon if you like.
You'll have to "Browse" the icon file to one that has the steam icon in it. I found mine at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe

I made another one for opening the Steam Servers list with steam://open/servers

A short list of other things you can open:

steam://open/<component> Opens a Steam window. Known <component> values:
..... bigpicture
..... downloads
..... friends
..... games
..... main
..... musicplayer
..... mymedia
..... news
..... screenshots
..... servers
..... settings

A full list and a bunch of other designer short cuts one can make are based on this web page:
..... Steam Developers: Steam Browser Protocols

Enjoy!
