They should have dropped the 1060, never even heard of it till today too; if your getting a new GTX card, 1080 and 1070 are the only ones that you should be looking at; and if the price difference between 1070 and 1080 wasn't 100+, I'd say 1080 would be the only one worth getting, but since it is more then 100+ and the difference isn't that great, it's not worth it to me.

RX 480 looks to be a really good card for the price, remember this card still has some baking to do in the driver depo (cause it's new) and 3rd party cards should see higher clocks.
If only AMD could shed Global Foundries... They'd prob be up there at the top.

I've read the RX 480 draws more power from the motherboard than allowed by the PCIe specifications. If that's true its a blatant engineering flaw. https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comment...specification/

This could be true. Depends where the issues lie, it could be a driver bug or software bug. Could be BIOS could be hardware.

Turned out a driver update fixed it.

Also, sure beats all of the 10 series cards having a tendency to catch on fire now, which is tragic. http://wccftech.com/nvidia-gtx-1080-...es-fire-video/

did anyone else notice in that video that the person

    1) didn't have the 6 pin and 8 pin Pcie cables plugged in

    2) acted as If he staged the whole thing..

I think the person shooting the video knew that in the right situation there were potentially catastrophic results due to poor vrm cooling/no thermal tape between heatsink and vrms etc with the cards and did something to exacerbate the problem, therefore sensationalizing the problem.
