Default Looking to buy the acer rog pg348q

Any of you guys bought this? Im looking for a monitor that I can play games and do some graphics stuff. I am a full time graphic designer. I very rarely bring projects at home though but its nice to have an ultra wide monitor if I need to. At the office we run dual ultrawide samsungs i think those are the $800 ones I think.

Btw i have 970 gtx how is the performance on that gaming wise?

That's a hell of a monitor. I got an asus rog swift PG278Q 2560x1440 @ 144hz monitor, I initially had a 970 but had planned to get a gtx1080 (which I have now). For the demanding games maxed out (i have BF4/Overwatch) I was getting solid frames but when a lot was going on I would dip below 60 in battlefield sometimes but the G-Sync feature helped the lag a bit. With the 970 I really had no issues constantly with the dipping but with my 1080 I get 110-144 (usually on the higher end) fps and 130-144 fps (limited) in overwatch.

So yes at my monitor which is a 27 inch 1440p panel the 970 would probably do nicely with a few settings turned down. More demanding games you might not get away with as easily. For the size monitor you are looking at, while still a 1440p it has a lot more pixels to render on the width so you may need a little more horsepower to run it depending on how high you like to crank the settings (would be a shame not to on such a nice panel).

GPU upgrade might have to come with it depending on your settings.

Just my two cents based off my experience.

Got mine on a dresser next to my desk, its a showy case so no floor. Also with all the husky hair I kinda need it up. Get a small stand to keep it up off the floor a bit imo.
