Getstuff Assetto Corsa Car Mods Websites/Depository

Here are a list of websites I used to get my Assetto Corsa mod fix My only gripe is that the way AC goes about mods support is very rudimentary. Would have been great for them to implement the way CS 1.6 did mods. When you connected to the server it would download all the mods for you. Making it easier in one swoop.

    AC Mod Websites
    • Updated McLaren MP/4-4 - New Physics and Handling.
    • Asrformula - The best classic Formula 1 cars. The cars for AC are in beta testing right now. I decided to support them and donate to get the cars. When you get to the website *click* AC Downloads. The Ferrari 412 t2
    • Modbase - Is a probably the best site to offer mods specifically for AC cars/tracks. Each car is rated and the best ones are given an Editors Choice Badge or Top Mod Badge. This makes it easy to differentiate the good from the bad. Here on Modbase in the top right corner next to the login/signup button is the sound fix for mod cars. If you download a car and the engine sounds don't work apply this fix to the \assettocorsa\content\sfx directory. Make sure to backup the original files. This will absolutely fix sound issues.

    • assettocorsa.club - Second on my list as the like button shows which cars/tracks have been well liked. They also offer car packs (exclusively drift cars) so that setting up a drift car lobby all you have to do to have the same cars is to have the pack. This website has some funny cars. The formula trucks are what got roost back into AC..lol.

    • assetto-db - Assetto db has about the same amount of cars or more than Modbase but there isn't any rating system. A good amount of the cars are not that good as their links haven't been updated. So I'd refer to modbase if you also see it there. This is where I'd be most careful to download but you can find cars here that you won't find anywhere else.

    • Racedepartment - Lastly is Racedepartment. This is most common site to find any mods for all racing sims. They have a small number of mods for AC. Those that update them regularly I'd get them from here.

    • Formula Renault 3.5 - Just a link to the download. I haven't tried these out yet.

    • Unite Racing Design Paid Mods - It's up to you if want to go ahead and buy and gives these a try. I've heard very good things about these guys. Their mods are used for official leagues. If you would like to participate in those you would have to purchase their required cars.

    • RSR Formula 3 Free – I found the mod that has been shared. It is no longer a paid mod. Which is nice. Give it a try.

    • WTCC - These set of WTCC cars are Editors Choice mods. Since many of the AOD racing team does not have RRRE (Race Room Racing Experience) WTCC DLC this is a great free alternative. Possible could set this up to in the off season for shits and giggles. Like just jump on race type of situation.

    • TheSimReview - They got some cars on here too. Links are also on most of the other sites. Some cars listed here are not on the top sites.

    Lake Louise Full Version v208

    Now for my mod recommendations.
I have spent a lot of hours combing these site for the best handling cars/interesting cars. I am a big fan of the road cars in AC. I feel they give the most enjoyment and not particularly on rails like the race cars.

    Top 3 Road Car recommendations:

    1. Porsche 981 Cayman GT4 - Fucking brilliant. Just . Handles brilliantly and looks stunning in both exterior and interior camera views. Now my one gripe was the sound. It sounded more like a boxter engine than a 911 engine which is what is supposed to be in the car. So what I did was take the sfx file from the Porsche 991 GT3 mod (will be 2nd recommendation) and rename them to match up with the GT4. (This file is my edited folder with the proper car sfx file) Now it sounds like it should

    2. Porsche 991 GT3 - Also brilliant. The mod team that did these cars are called Porsche Drive and these have provided us with a great preview into the Porsche pack that will be coming in August. It's something great to expect. The all around fit and finish of these cars are excellent. The GT3 has the best engine sound.

    image1.jpg

    3. Gumpert Apollo S - Brutal...just brutal. Works best on Laser scanned tracks.

    Gumpert Apollo S.jpg

    Top 3 Race Car recommendations:

    1. Ferrari 412 t2 & Ferrari 643 (ASR Formula) - The best 2 of the mods so far. Sounds on point, handling is a dream. Basically can't tell them apart except one is faster than the other. Also contains '90 Ferrari 641 and '91Williams FW14.

    ASR Formula 1.jpg

    2. Mazda 787b - How could you not want this...right?

    787b.jpg

    3. Porsche 911 GT1 EVO2 '98 - It's just so damn fast. I have been thinking about doing a recreating of the '98 Le Mans (If anyone is up for a mild endurance race with GT1 and GT2. There is all the cars from that race are able to download. So yeah maybe. (Porsche GT1 BOP is the only issue, its super fast in a straight line at Sarthe where the F1 GTR LT, CLK-LM, R390 GT1 are still quick but not as quick {Toyota GT-one is kinda in it's own league})

How to Install Mods in Assetto Corsa:

    • Assetto Corsa uses Steam as a distribution platform. Typically, the installation folder would be something like : C:\Program Files\STEAM\steamapps\common\assettocorsa
    • In order to install the mods you simply need to unpack the files you are downloading, and copy the content in the appropriate folder. For unpacking I can recommend you to use*7-zip, as this knows to treat all the major file types.
    • If you are installing cars, you should be copying them to \STEAM\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\content\cars. This is typically true when the folder you have just unpacked, is named as the car
    • You should always check the files once unpacked; some modders prefer to release the package with a more complete path, starting from folder "content". In this case, you must of course copy the package to the folder \STEAM\steamapps\common\assettocorsa.
    • If you are installing tracks, unpack and then copy the contents to \STEAM\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\content\track s
    • Most of the mods have also a readme file included with the basic instruction for installation.

    Sound Fix For Assetto Corsa:

Sound Fix for Assetto corsa MODS ver. 1.7.5
•This is necessary only if the modded cars you are using don't work.
•Rename old sfx folder in \STEAM\steamapps\commonassettocorsa\content\sfx
    •Paste SFX folder in \STEAM\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\content\sfx

Assetto Corsa Dedicated Server Guide Reddit:

    AC Dedicated Server Guide
    • This guide helped me very much in being able to easily setup and run a server. Everything is very straight forward. Figured out that since your PC IP address changes. Especially if your router is dynamic. Then when you turn on the server via acserver.exe at the top of the cmd prompt the IP address the server is looking for is there. Therefore, you have to change your port forward settings IP to that address. It will then start once that is corrected. HTTP Port is probably 8081.

    If you have any questions about the Dedicated server feel free to pm me. I will get them through Tapatalk. Or the Whatsapp group, message me directly. {If I am already not on TS}

Here will be where I will post the link to my drive for sound mod fixes on the Porsches and I might do the '98 FIA Le Mans as a pack of all the needed cars and Sarthe so that it's easy for everyone. This would be based upon interest of you all.

'98 FIA GT1 Race mod pack - TBD

WTCC Shits and Giggles race - TBD

I will continue to update this post

    HAPPY MODDING

Hmm good info dank. I'll have to take you up on helping me setup a server. Some of that I did, but didn't get it to work.

Let's go over what I missed. Maybe you can help fix this problem
