So, I am thinking of taking the plunge into water cooling and I cannot decide on which unit to get
either the Corsair Hydro Series H100i v2 or the Corsair Hydro Series H80i v2. Can any one make a suggestion as to which unit to get
Thanks

Aye see if you have the mounting room for the radiator first, if so go h100i. Month ago I got it, and glad I did. My i5 4690k stock 3.5, I have up to 4.5ghz. idle is ~30c most games I go to 60c. This is with ambient room temperature around 25c.
I could of won silicon lottery too, but under load, warm room temp and rarely peak over 60c, I'll never leave my h100i even if it dies
Thanks for the input mates. I'll be ordering my wc unit this weekend.

I think the guys already covered everything but you might also want to replace the fans the H100i/H80i comes with, as they tend to get loud under heavy CPU loads.
I don't notice them loud. 75% speed and under their fine, 100% speed you can hear but barely noticeable for me. Buy full speed is I think nearly 4000rpm, as most fans these days go 1800+.
To be fair I have a quiet system, but the fans on the H100i are the loudest thing in it.
Using a pair of Noctua Redux NFP14's on my H115 and they're wonderful. You can get the 120mm version if the rad doesn't support 140mm fans. Extremely affordable with the same great performance and they come in grey so they may match the components better than the standard brown coloured ones.
