Geekout New pc build for Planetside 2

    http://pcpartpicker.com/list/pwVDZ8

Hi all. My old rig took a dump and currently I am playing on a single core amd with intergrated graphics, my current fps is from 10fps and below....lol
Anyways, I'm wanting to make a build for Planetside 2 and my Budget is pretty low. I put together this build. Could any Planetside 2 hardware guys take a look and let me know if this will work. Im wanting to play on High settings not Ultra. I want a nvidia as I also play borderlands 2 from time to time and enjoy physx. Thanks!

Default New pc build for Planetside 2

To save some money, don't buy a Windows 10 OEM Key. Get Windows 10 from Kinguin. If you the proof of legitimacy of the website check out this video

    You could save $50

Buddy that is way too outdated system
    Take a look at this:
    http://pcpartpicker.com/list/4DTPFd

This build will be at least x4 faster than the one you put together and costs same money. Not only it will run Planetside 2 but many other modern games at very decent settings.

Also, don't you have a Windows CD-Key from your old PC? You don't have to buy a new OS if you have one already.

Do you still have your old PC? If you do, take out the drive and put it into a working computer, boot into Windows. Then open Comand Prompt and type:
    wmic os get "SerialNumber"

Yes! You may get error messages at boot with missing drivers and so on but ignore them. You just need that CD-Key and once you get it, you can install a fresh copy of Windows by using that key. You could also try to download Windows 10 from Microsoft website, install Windows 10 and use CD-Key from your old Windows to activate it. At least it used to work a couple month ago, not sure if it still works since Windows 10 upgrade is no longer Free.

I would highly recommend avoiding both the system you posted, and the one Zed posted.

Since you are salvaging an older HDD I can assume, that shaves off around 40 USD. And, shaving off 80 USD from a copy of Windows being salvaged. Here's what I highly recommend.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

    CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($198.88 @ OutletPC)
    Motherboard: ASRock H170A-X1 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($76.98 @ Newegg)
    Memory: Team Elite Plus 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($59.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung 850 Pro Series 128GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($88.89 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB SC GAMING Video Card ($259.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Case: NZXT Source 210 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($39.89 @ OutletPC)
Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($34.99 @ Newegg)
    Total: $759.61
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

This would give you great performance for an excellent price. Both builds posted are using older CPU's that only accept DDR3, which is slower RAM. Also, that Kingston SSD I would not trust at all. The 950 is outclassed severely by the 1060, and even the 1050 that is rumored to come out later. Wouldn't trust the Seasonic PSU. And, there's no need to add a cooler onto a non K Series CPU...

went with i5-6500 w/ the asus mobo for the fan expert 2 (& 3 4pin fan ports) so I can control the pwm fans off internal temps
the corsair ssd I had picked was out of inventory so I went with a samsung (decently priced)
    6gb 1060 over the 3gb
had extra $100 bucks I threw on the pwm fans, (i couldnt do a 6600k with a good cooler and good z170 for only extra $100)
went with best for my dollars atx case offering best airflow
really just wanted to be able to cool my cpu and gpu best I could for a high gpu OC
this will be my first build so I hope all goes well
I want to thank you all for your help once again
