Over the past weekend (Sept.24-25) ClanAOD.net set out to tackle the iRacing Petit LeMan 10 hour Endurance race at Road Atlanta. Our A team started the race Saturday, the 24th, at 10am PST and would run until 8pm that same night. The car was driven by Alex 'Frosty' Simonic and Yannick 'Mystic' Mueleman. The setup and spotting of the race was thanks to James 'Roost' Defeo, Chandler 'Zafod' Rubeck, and Clemens 'Jooldst' Berg. Mystic would start the car and drive for 3 consecutive stints until handing the reigns over to Frosty where he would drive for only 2 stints. Trouble would hit the A car early in the race when they received an unannounced 'Stop and Hold for 15 seconds' for speeding in the pits. This threw their pit sequence out of order in that they would be still be out on track whilst the leaders would be pitting. This ended up benefiting the A car as they would soon be lapping lapping the leaders 15 laps before the A car needed to pit. This continued for the next 5-6 hours until MSP Drivers Home picked up their pace and challenged us for the lead. The intense battle lasted for about 30 minutes until MSP was taken out by a Mercedes AMG GT3 that was in mid slide. This caused a 10 minute repair for MSP and put them 9 laps down. Feeling confident, the A car backed off and started cruising in order to save fuel and conserve tires. Mystic would jump into the car for the next 2 stints and Frosty would drive the last 3 hours and 30 minutes and bring the car to victory lane.
