Well uh... im mad rn, made this huge awesome post and it was super descriptive and I sold this game really well... and then I got a time out error and lost the post -.-
SO yeah, I play this game... its cool... you should play too.

Well there's an active online version of it that runs on a decent engine.
It's really fun.


Mechs are fully customisable down to chassis, limbs, weapons, paint, and perks.
People who like WOT will feel at home playing this game, but I personally hated WOT but I love this game.

This game does not rely on twitch reflexes and rank progress.
This game demands strategy, precision, and skill.

There are no cheap tricks, no OP weapons or mechs, no pay to win aspects, everything is fair.
All mechs and weapons are VERY niche, meaning every type of mech relies on its allies.
There is no one type of mech that everyone uses, precisely because of the above.

Another cool feature of this game is that your limbs and parts of your mech can be shot off or destroyed. You can lose a leg and half your upper body and still be in the fight, as long as they missed your vital components.

They're beasts and run clanner mechs. My Steam account is KrazyCalgarian but steam didn't have this till last year but games been going for quite some time. Battle tech comes out next year as well from Hairbrained Scemes

Can confirm it's a fun game, though I haven't played in a while. It's fairly easy to start playing and I would say they have a decent F2P model. The catch with any good F2P game is that instead of spending money on it, you need to spend lots of time playing it (though you certainly can spend money, and F2P games end up being way more expensive than B2P games if you have no willpower). I think they've balanced it very well in that it's not pay to win and it doesn't feel too grindy if you play in moderation; just hop on, play a few matches (boy oh boy can those matches be awesome), and don't be too concerned about progression as it will come eventually.

But yea, the game can be played for free entirely, and you can play with the top tiers without buying anything.
There are trial mechs that change regularly that you can sample, i believe its 4 different mechs for every weight class (light, med, heavy, assault). So theirs always 16 different mechs you can play with for free, without even spending ingame currency.
