Please take time to honor those who have given their all for us to have your blessed lives. If you're able to attend a ceremony in their honor today, please do so.

The bodies littered the landscape like so much debris from a enthusiastic crowd after a 3day music fest. The shattered bodies and limbs far from their owners mixed with the blood,guts,guns,and shell casings. All things of war,of death,not of life. The rattle of weapons fire and booms of bombs and big guns had faded as the papers were signed,by those who'd never seen this and yet,they felt it ok to send their Countrymen and women to. The adulation and thank you's were nice,but all this time later now,that scene stuck in His mind. Someone's kids were dead,enemy mixed in with ours as the final battle was smell their breath close. He saw not the uniform or clothing,but the faces. They're mostly all the same. 2 eyes,a nose,a mouth,perhaps some facial hair but some as smooth as Samuel L Jackson. He recognized His friends,and colleagues in some of them. That guy looks like Ronnie from High school,this guy was named John and he was a HELL of a guitar picker. That one over there looks alot like His brother,if His brother was missing everything from His chest down. His face was beatific,and at peace. Occupied by nothing but the flies that buzzed around,smelling decay and meat and knowing a meal was near. He wondered how to celebrate them. How to honor them. How to memorialize them,as it were....


Never forget,no matter Your Country,no matter Your city,You exist and enjoy life as others have given their lives for You to do so. They were called "World Wars' for a reason. The world fought itself,and often good vs evil was on the main card. Never forget those soldiers,airmen and women,often young and in the prime of their lives when they were taken from us. Honor them. Have a thought for them at dinner prayers,should You pray. buy a beer that sits in front of a empty seat til You leave,many will know what it is and respect it. Have a tip of the cap to a veteran,and perhaps visit a cemetary,a battle field,a veterans hospital or home if You've a spare hour.
