Maybe we can take the best from both worlds? Get a squadron together to fight, get AOD out there, but keep some guys back (but then again, you should have more than one ship by the end of beta anyway) so we can salvage & defend!
I wonder how that salvaging will go, we'll surely not be the only ones there...

I'm in favor of not having anything to do whatsoever with the combat part of O:P. I just don't see the value in throwing away our biggest and best ships on what will essentially be a suicide mission that the devs will probably reset anyway. Stuff like combat experience and inter-organization diplo are things we can easily get outside of O:P. I'd say just send whoever wants to go salvaging, and then probably get an escort or two for them. Like you said, we won't be the only ones collecting scrap.

I'm fully in favor of hitting this up. Would love to see a dramatic, pitched space battle for the ages. I imagine after Pitchfork, it'll be a while before we see something like it again.

Overall, if we have nothing to lose we might as well get in on the fun. If there is serious risk of losing things we should be more conservative.

I have LTI on my Retaliator, I won't be losing anything. I should have enough money built up to refit the replacement. I also have 2 other ships I can fly until the Retaliator is up again.
