The last couple of days I have had a lot of people climb up for me - directly or almost directly below me.. Been flying high-ish, looking for targets, escorting and these guys comes up to get me down - but they climb up to stalling speed below me. Or they climb very steeply and make themself very easy targets...
Got the same guy with my Bearcat F8F-1 the other day (he came in Spits), a couple of Bf 109s with my F8F-1B today etc etc etc.. What is up with that??

Anyways, the same happened when flying a Yak-9T. There were no enemy bombers up so I just patrolled and they started to climb...

First a Bf 109:

*Bang - bang*

Bye-bye..

The the shit hit the fan.. A Fucker Wulf comes barrell-rolling (!) up towards me.. We both miss. I figured it started to get hot so tried to dive past him and away.

Mr. Spitfire figures that the only way to fight a Yak-) is to climb up and do a head on. I practice aimed shots...

Mr. Bf 109 also think it is a good idea:

They actually set me on fire and I crashed later, but two more guys came climbing up, all dived down after me again giving up the height. In the end, one guy on the ground got the credit for the kill - and our bombers were bombing the GTs at low altitude and winning the game. Sure, they got me down - but there was no one else up there..! People are funny..
