    Default Frustrated... Any advice?

So I heard building a pc wouldn't be too difficult so I saved up and got all these parts. Tonight, I spent all night trying to put it together but I keep screwing up and getting extremely frustrated. Does anybody recommend ways to keep "sane" while building or know some good tutorials. Thanks guys, I want to get back to playing.

this is a great video tutorial

but what parts are you having issues with, I know with my first build I spent about 3 hours trying to figure out why my monitor would not pick up the signal (I hooked it up to the MOBO and not the GPU...)

You need to provide alot more detail about what parts you're having problems with. As for staying sane well play some music double check your work take 10min breaks after every section take before/after pics enjoy the process its not after all, everyday you get to build 'frankenpc' from scratch

If you are using a non stock heatsink, then install it onto the motherboard before installing it into the case.

If possible, also look at the manual or take a picture of the front panel connector if needed (just in case the case makes it hard to see, that way you will have a easier time connecting the front panel to the motherboard. Other than that, everything else should be 100% straightforward and either shaped or color coated so there is pretty much no way to go wrong

The R9 280x only needs 500W stated by Newegg. And PcPartpicker said the overall build only needs 430W. So that shouldn't be a problem.
The standoffs weren't seeming to line up with the motherboard with about half an hour of attempts and when I tried to do the external build, I think I shorted it right but nothing happened. I'll try it all again tonight and hopefully it goes well.

Not sure if this happened to you or not, but never run a motherboard while it is on top of the antistatic bag. Those bags have a conductive coating on the outside.

So I got it all correctly(I think) in the case but it never seems to turn on when I wire it all up. I'm not sure what I'm missing...

Thanks to everyone, been using the build for about a week now. Runs everything I throw at it flawlessly and I couldn't be happier. It's a little easier to shoot someone when you aren't running ten fps haha. Thanks again!
