Geekout Help Identifying a Weapon Component

    Hello AOD!

I'm modeling a Scar assault rifle and have run into a roadblock when it comes to identifying a particular component of the weapon. I'm attaching an image to illustrate the problem area. If anyone here could tell me what that piece is called, I'll be eternally grateful.

Basic modular iron sights, FN SCAR-L CQC version, it looks like. Standard 3rd gen iron sights.

It's likely a dual use peep / battle sight as well. Peep sight for longer range plinking etc and an open battle sight for cqc.

Nope, the irons on a SCAR only work in the deployed position. it's a cylinder with a peep sight on top, there is no aperture milled into the base.

Yea, the newer rifles with built in flip up irons they're generally only for use deployed since they're considered back-up irons when your optic dies for whatever reason. My tavor's are milled into the rail and you can actually mount stuff to them when they're folded.
