    Default Failing Internet Connection

For some reason, when I am in PlanetSide 2 or World of Tanks, my computer completely refuses to use my Ethernet connection that is plugged into the side of my laptop and saying that it has a 1 Gbps connection. Thus, I lag out and Sunderers start flying around, people start walking through walls, and I have to wait 30-45 seconds before the server says "Disconnected from Server." This whole time, I am still able to hear voice-chat from the squad I am playing with. What am I doing wrong/How can I get my computer to stay connected to the server? Also, after about 5 minutes in game on PS 2 or during each battle in WoT, my wireless connection gives out and completely disconnects me from the server - while still saying that it's connected on my toolbar.

Which network connection is set to a higher priority?

Head to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections

then click on Advanced > Advanced Settings

if you do not have the menu bar, then click on Organize > Layout > then click on menu bar

In the advanced settings, under Connections, make sure that the Ethernet adapter is at the top of that list.

I don't see a Network Connections option in Control Panel under Network and Internet. I'm on Windows 7 Professional, if that helps.
Connection seems to work if I disconnect from Wi-Fi before logging in, so you're probably right on how to solve it.
