Default Anyone else have Shadow of Mordor?

As title says, and if you do the steam pre-load is up the game is a whooping 33.9 GB large so you may want to start now...

And if you don't know what it is shame on you.

    anyone else excited!?!

I remember looking into it a little when I saw it on Steam. Seemed like an okay game, but I wasn't too drawn into it. I don't know a whole lot about Tolkien lore, but from what I read about the game, it didn't seem like it followed it very well. Based off of what I know.

Point is, I wasn't too interested in it so I didn't bother.

Diablo 3 released with very good reviews too. Just sayin'

It's because of that game I don't trust early reviews of games. I'll wait for the players to decide.

I don't trust reviews at all. Ratings are generally completely useless considering the numbers are completely subjective. Some of my favorite games have been 6//10 or 7/10, and some of the biggest pieces of crap ever created (in my opinion anyway) have been 10/10. Best way to see if you like a game is to demo it. Next best thing is to watch playthroughs on YouTube. After that I normally see what other gamers thought and why. The why being the important part. Buying a game from a developer that hasn't screwed you in the past also helps. All that is ignoring that whole corruption in video gaming "journalism" fiasco.

Anyway, will definitely check out Shadow of Mordor. Have always been interested in Tolkien.

Game is fetching awesome! The mechanics are great and the ability to avenge friends who fall is awesome! I have not played very much of it as of yet (Put in a couple of hours) and I must say this game is a blast.

I planned to keep an eye on the game for a bit, then maybe decide to get it in the future if the price may go down later. Although, now with that trailer you have up there, it makes me consider it as a game to get once I get a better computer. It looks great, and it's always nice to have new ideas that others haven't done before.

Whenever I can rub enough nickels together to get the game I'm hopping on that. ME: SoM is one of three games I've been hounding after this season.

I have thrown 10+ hours into and am only %30 of the way done with the main story, the game is amazing. Shadow of Modor is insanely addicting and while some people say it is easy I (being an average gamer) find it to be a moderate level, for me it is perfect, not too hard but still challenging, I always run when I alert a stronghold as I have a hard time fighting 50+ orcs with some captains mixed in. And it is not just orcs you have to worry about, the beasts of Mordor are also threating and dangerous.
This brings me to the nemesis system it is very well done, I enjoyed grooming an orc up to a higher level by letting him kill me over and over, and while it was weird to kill the same guy more than 5 times (as apparently you need to chop or blow a captains head off for them to be gone for good) it is still enjoyable. There is also a feature in the game where you can avenge you friends (Steam friends) who die in combat, when you die a message gets sent out to those on your friends list who are playing, this message is a mission for revenge. Completing a “Vendetta” mission grants more rewards and the ability to gloat over your friend at his or hers failure.
Now some people have also said that the combat is repetitive and dull, but I find it far from dull and repetitive, upgrading Talion with new and better abilities as well as changing out runes keeps combat interesting and always new. I have found the main story to be very enticing and interesting. The characters I have encountered have kept me wanting to play more. The game, like the movies, has humor in it too, just enough though, it is not childlike and I have found myself laughing out loud on several occasions. Overall my experience with the game thus far has been fun and eventful.

Should I do a video review?

And it was a decent game until they let the economy go to shit, and decided to let people sell with real money. At that point, there's just no point anymore.
