So you wouldn't recommend the BX100 over the 850 EVO? My wife and I were talking about the two and she said to just go with the 850 due to the "vertical thingy" (the 3d NAND) that "is supposed to be good and the other one (BX100) doesn't have any user reviews yet."

It's Crucial... I've been running a Crucial M4 120GB for 3ish years now with no bad sectors and/or noticeable performance drops. I also have a 60GB from the series the BX100 replaced and it's also fine and has been for a year+

    Anyways FYI:

Windows 7 install guide for SSDs/HDDs:

    Windows 8:

Even if you know how to install windows these are good for helping to maximise performance and/or longevity.

Update: got the G502, so far so good, haven't customized anything yet though. Going to make a final decision on the SSD in the next day or two, depends on when I get my VA payment, but I have been leaning toward the 850. I might possibly go with a 500GB if I can sweet talk the wife into letting me, otherwise I plan on trying to get a drone or sphero for our son (and me) to play with.

So I just saw that I can get the 128GB 850 Pro for $99 and the 256GB for $164. Not that much for than the 250GB Evo, is it worth the extra $40 for the Pro? Or would it be better to save the money and get the Evo and say, flowers for the wife?

Went ahead and got the 250GB 850 EVO, another 3TB Seagate, and a Sphero 2.0. Grabbing flowers for the wife tonight when I get off work. Still have to find a good SATA controller card to add more ports since my motherboard only has 4, which are all full right now. I can replace my 1TB with the 3TB, but I still want to use the other 2TB and 3TB as well as the optical drive, without having to switch between any.
