I just right click on my Minimized Steam and Launch it makes no difference honestly I thought you were asking whether to steam account or not steam account your war thunder and the answer to that one is Definitely DO NOT make a Steam Login Account.
I think it could possibly make a difference if you want to launch it without Overlay or With but performance or anything related it doesn't make much difference, Steam will launch the Launcher which will launch the game. Bypassing the launcher will lead you to the login screen but it will NOT let you login similar to World of Warcraft if there is a newer version available it will state to quit and launch the game via launcher. But Steam does not bypass the launcher.
Steam Client-allows for multiple games across steam platforms to be easily accessed,assessed,and launched. Auto updates, common "virus warnings' precluded due to being in STEAM folder,and accepted vs game launcher alone.
Launcher client-Hell I don't know.My STEAM Id original is a 4 digit..ain't used a game launcher since STEAM came out I think
Rubble basically has the gist of it. The best part in my opinion is adding people you normally play with to your steam friends so you can stalk....er..I mean see what they're up to.
