You are one sick puppy, but I love you anyway.
300 for a phone bill ???? thats one hell of a phone-sex line you call there Mr Rubble
was only one call...took the chick 15min to tell Me she was "Arriving' as it were.....:cussing:
How can one person possess more than 1/2 the states allotment of political incorrectness (and he lives in Nevada, home of Sin City...hmmmm...his home...but I digress) and still be such a wonderful person and lovable cuddly teddy bear that brings smiles to all of our faces and hearts? (kind of a rhetorical question)
C'mon Rubble, you can do better then that :)
lolz :You_Rock_Emoticon:
Mr Rubble have you ever thought about starting your own 1 man show ???
been offered a few times from comedy producers...stage fright
talking shit w/people online is MUCH different w/a room of 200 or so people who've paid GOOD money to hear ya spout off and be cranky, lol.
Its still very difficult to do Dannes,
I have been in a rock band when I was younger and man did I had stage fright those first few gigs we did, i just was scared shitlless.
I grew over when we started to do more and more gigs but the nerves were there every single time.
Indeed think of it as of something you wanna do because its fun helps a lot , you will still be nervous as hell but that will pass.
Stage fright never really goes away but just think that YOU are the one they pay money to see/hear.
If they think they can do better. then let them get on stage and do it, believe me they will not.
I just told myself that i was the one with the guitar and they came here to listen to me (and band),
and i just said fuck `m went up there and played and enjoyed myself.
I wasnt playing for the people listening but I was playing for myself, having fun with the band and just didnt think about the public.
man was I scared but I still did it and ahd a lot of fun, best days of my live.
There is nothing to compare to the rush you get when your on stage playing for a crowd that goes wild
its better then any drug or alcohol, and given the chance, I be up there in a heartbeat again. scared ... but oh so happy.
I've played guitar for 35+ years, played in party bands in college where I was too inebriated to be scared, then didn't play on stage again until about 15 years ago because of paralyzing stage fright. I would start shaking and break out in cold sweats, despite being a very good player. A PBS broadcast of a Kennedy Center honors concert for Paul Simon changed my life.
The encore included Stevie Wonder on piano (who is blind for those not familiar with him). It was an ensemble number and when it came time for Stevie's vocal verse he missed his queue and couldn't find the mic. Paul Simon reached around him to try to position the mic properly but they were getting in each other's way. Once Stevie found the mic (and missed the first few bars of his verse), he stopped, waved his arms in the air and brought the performance to a dead stop. He turned to the audience, lowered his dark glasses, and with a big smile said "Sorry ladies and gentleman, but I couldn't read the cue card", then without hesitation, turned back to the piano and just ripped into it and all the others followed suit.
One of the most seasoned performers in the world made the WORST performers gaff of stopping in the middle of a performance, in front of the President of the US and very very select audience, made fun of himself and his disability and continued as if nothing had happened. So I figured if he could pull that off, there's probably nothing I could do on stage that would actually cause me to die of embarrassment.
I've been playing live at Blues Jams a couple of times a week ever since (even sit in on occasion with several bands at paying gigs) with no stage fright whatsoever. If I screw up, I screw up, BFD. I have a hell of a lot of fun regardless. Life's short, don't let fear make you spend it on the sidelines.
You could always try the "imagine the crowd is naked" plan. However, that could backfire.
I was always lucky enough to to have a strategically placed Bass Guitar shielding the crowd from any possibly embarrassing "excitement"
If a particularly nice looking girl started dancing in front of the stage...
Look up this comic on google: "spagata nadle"
I've played drums off/on for over 30yrs.I've played with some serious people *Mostly 80's bands in the 80's* and had NO stage fright. When it's music,I have NO issues.I sang "Call Me Irresponsible' in front of a piano and 200plus people downtown Las Vegas,Not a minutes worry in My mind, and I'm by NO means a "Perfect' singer..however comedy is VASTLY different.
Much of My comedy is "Stream of consciousness" and VERY hard to adapt to a "show' or routine. Many of the set-ups required FEEL like setups, which in Comedy is a nyet-nyet.Even those comics who make the setup part of the show,as it were, have a short run,no matter their 'funny' as it were. Furthermore,I am FEARLESS in comedy..not on stage, but with comedy,I know NO bounds..Sure,I've been a "Little' out there on the mic on TS3,but wait'll ya get Me in front of Ya,on a roll...things fly outta My mouth that shock even ME.Not the usual shock value comedy "Ever seen 3 babies on fire? They move quick don't they?" but shocking in that I would be THAT blatant and THAT full-on when excoriating a commonly held belief, taboo, etc. That leads to heckling, and heckling is is fun,but the crowd gets butt-hurt REAL fuckin' fast. They want to talk shit, and then here comes Rubble,full-steam ahead and after 3min of being shredded, usually some "BroHam' or what-not gets angry and suddenly I'm putting a guy down on the deck w/a busted snot-box and I'M the one getting booed.. *Yes,this happened at the Magic hat bar, above Laughs unlt'd/Old Sacramento location,MANY years ago*. I don't believe comedy needs a censor, nor a explanation. TOO many thin skinned people in the world with NO ability to laugh at themselves,or even consider the humor in many things.Especially things not normally humorous.
Several "Shock' comics came out in the 90's/2000's. and have faded away and/or imploded. "Dane cook, writing again,Katt Williams, back on the crack rock" while "family friendly' comedy has taken off "Gabriel Iglesias, the Blue collar comedy tour' Even Ron White has had to start doing tribute to the troops shows to merely keep working, and HE was a semi-shock comic w/blue collar roots. 'My' comedy isn't popular right now.
So I write..Yep..If You've watched a show or movie and thought "That sounds like Barney' or in the case of a neighbor "Hey,I heard a guy on a show say something I've heard YOU say often" then there's a good chance I in fact,DID write that line,or piece, lol. I've been working on getting into Brad Garrets club for "Open mic night' here in Vegas *Everybody loves Raymond, the Brother is Brad Garret* and have had invitations from the "new' Mr.Las Vegas as well as Eddie Griffin, and a few others to either open/open for them "First opening act, followed the actual opener, then the star' and it's just not come about. I'll keep writing, and working on a one-man 2hr show. Actually 2.5 hours, but the 1/2 hour is a intermission cause,no one wants to sit for two hours in theater seating...that shit was designed to make people uncomfortable and pissed off.
I appreciate all the love and support. One day,You'll find a video posted that says "BedrockBedlam' and nothing else..Turn up the sound, sit back, and have a giggle. It'll be Me onstage,w/a shoutout SOMEWHERE to AOD. Who knows...You might hear YOUR name in the act.
oh,and I'm submitting Myself to "Perform' at CES next year,as well as the "black hat" convention. CES is the consumer electronics show.Black hat is the "Hackers convention' held here yearly. So we'll see what happens!
You guys are pretty friggin' awesom
