Volunteering / Charity

So I just got back from helping build a playground for children with disabilities. So on my five hour car ride home I thought since we have so many members maybe we all could donate to a cause? I know for my work we work with Children's Miracle Network, MS Society and Breast Cancer Awareness. Maybe AOD already has something going on that I don't know about. If so I would love to help out due to family reasons ie my daughter having to go to one of the children's hospitals and seeing what they do for the kids is awesome. If any has info on this type of stuff I am all ears. Thanks for listening.

Nacht.I'm not aware of anything that AOD does as a clan,however like Yourself,there are many individuals who do charity driven work for things close to their hearts/families. My Brother has Medulloblastoma cancer,cancer of the 4th ventricle of the brain.Due to the chemo/radiation,it's become full blown CNS cancer. Meanwhile,He holds a 3.8 GPA in college,is raising 2 kids under 10,and did I mention He also helps out his "Sick" neighbor w/child care,etc...His "Sick" Neighbor is 20yrs His senior and in FULL remission,while My brother is not,nor will never be. He volunteers w/the Trailblazer *NBA team in Oregon* to travel/meet sick kids and raise their spirits,etc.
I volunteer for St.Baldricks *Google it* as well as ANYTHING Pink *Breast cancer awareness,walks,etc*. I know of several AOD who give their time/effort to causes much the same.

I'd suggest finding a Sgt *we have a few lying around....* about getting w/the BigDogs of AOD *CmdSgt,etc* and perhaps choosing 1-2 charities that AOD can/will support in some way.Even if it's just a note on a wall or card,"AOD Was Here" clanaod.net or somesuch. Donations made in the name of clanaod,etc are all possibilities. Ya ever hear of anything in Vegas,charity wise that You wanna do,let Me know in enough time to either help out,or clean up the man-cave so You can sleep there while You're doing it. We hv a queen size bed,hardly used,linens,ur own shower/bath combo,etc. NO charge for the room,however You WILL be molested by cats that know NO boundaries and in fact,demand to sleep w/humans.

I like knowing that there are not only AOD members,but PARENTS showing their children that not everyone is as lucky as they are,and that compassion and honor are not weakness,but strengths. Good to know other people realize a world exists outside of our lil boxes of wires n shit ya know?GOOD on You mate

We as a clan could even look into Extra Life a charity that does gaming marathons to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network. Biggest thing is we would have to live stream as we go and have people donate to our cause. But the way i see it i don't have the money to donate much myself but i can donate my time and would love to do something like that. I already work with boy scouts and now am involved in scout reach which focuses on under served areas and those who are labeled "at-risk". The next event with Extra life looks like it'll be on Nov 7th which does give us some time to get a plan together. Thabks for the replies! I was jusr some quick math, had to use the toes for this one, and we have alot of people and $2 a person can add uo a lot abd it would be great for recruiting. Thank you Rubble I will see if I can find one! Awesome idea therealdon!

And what if we also tried to get each member to have 3 friends or family donate $2 as well that could amount to a healthy donation.
