Though I never served in the military, I have the deepest admiration and respect all the men and women who have sacrificed so much. An excerpt from my Facebook Memorial Day tribute post:
"On this Memorial Day weekend, enjoy the BBQs and cherish the time spent with family and friends. Please do not forget to take some time and reflect on the real meaning of Memorial Day. Remember the countless number of men and women who have bravely sacrificed their time and all too often their lives to serve and protect our freedom."
Regardless of what country you are from, thank you to all the brave AOD members who have served to protect your nation.
Having had an opportunity to see American War Cemitaries from Europe to Asia, I must say that they all have been treated with the upmost respect by the host nations. In Manila, Normandy, the South of France, Luxembourg, etc. I have always been touched by the host nation pride in taking care of our brothers who never returned home. Thank you all.
