Depends on what you're grinding. The German D13's very good, and I've got the Russian IS2 Revenge.
The xp38 Lightning for the us clubs at its BR,but not as much as the XP55 or the Japanese Am7
I agree with the Fw190 D-13, it is worth the money. It is a beast of a plane itself, and you can grind the German tech tree with it much quickly. I also got the American Bf109 F-4 because I LOVE to fly German planes. If you are like me, you are probably going to like it.
Speaking of buying German planes, I bought Japanese Fw190 A-5 before the A7M1 got added to the game, I kinda wish I didn't buy the Fw190 and waited for the A7M1 instead. I believe that plane would be the best choice if you want to buy a premium on Japan.
I've heard that the American P47M is a great plane, never flown it. There is the American Spitfire as well. Those planes would be good to grind the American tier IVs and jets.
Also, if you want to buy the premium planes to grind other stuff out (especially jets), you can get a talisman on a normal plane instead. This way you can turn any plane you like into a premium. Great if you don't like the available premium planes for a specific nation/tier.
Depends on what you fly (or drive, but I won't comment on that as I suck at tanking). I have all the countries premiums and really there aren't that many I truly value. Here's a list of my favorites:
American - A6M2; XP55; Spitfire Mk IX
German - P-47; Hs 129-2 (Romanian)
Russian - P-47; Hurricane; LaGG 3-34; Yak 9M
British - Boomerang Mk I & II; Mustang Mk I; Typhoon
Japanese - A7M2
What to remember when getting one of these vehicles is that whatever you fly well in one country will most likely translate into another country (i.e. if you fly BF 109's well then get the US version).
I just picked up the is 2 revenge and the t44 122.. the t44 is amazing. .fast with a big gun. .the only thing that sucks in all modes is the recoil. .it throws your targeting off but it's well worth it. . The revenge is a bad ass too. .typical slow IS but the 122 is perfect. .
German premiums are kind of lacking at the moment. The Nebelwerfer is cool, but it's really just a novelty. I have the Panzer IV/70A and it's alright once you learn to play those low silhouette tank destroyers.
Americans love the Premium M18 because it's a great TD and helps grind the 10 or so Sherman variants. The Cobra King is pretty ok if you know how to play your Shermans. It can take a beating. The Calliope just screams "ammo rack my rockets" so don't bother.
The premium t34s are good for grinding the Russian lower br tier 4 tanks if you aren't there yet. .good reload and great for shoot and scoot
I ground the Horton in a day using the d13
Just remember putting a talisman on a normal plane also gives pretty nice bonuses too
