It looks to me like Blizzard is basically trying to make their own version of TF2. Unless they make some significant changes to the gameplay that set it apart from TF2, it won't really get very popular. Just like when Blizzard tried Heroes of the Storm. As far as I know, it hasn't really made that much of an impact against the other MOBAs already out there.

Oh, it's not a bad game at all, it's just super casual. Whereas League of Legends was kind of a "perfect" mix of casual and hardcore, and DOTA 2 was more hardcore. (Other MOBAs probably lie somewhere inbetween those games, I've never played them though)
Looks like a pretty unique game to me. I've had my eye on it for a bit now and I think it's going to be awesome. Hopefully I'll have a better PC by the time it's released
yeah this game looks like dirty bomb meets team fortress 2, I will definently give this game a try! on the hand of Heroes of the Storm its not a bad game, I play it time to time to kill some time and it always gives me some satisfaction :] though I would probably play League of Legends alot more if I had enough space to carry alot of games on my small SSD :[ /cry
It's been about 2 years since i've tried it, but I found LoL to be kind of difficult and was never really able to do much of... anything (I do suck terribly at mobas). Between the pay stuff, the limited characters, the interface, the community etc.. it was overwhelming to me. I always felt like its continued popularity was partially "I was first", its hard to leave a game when your friends are there, as well as your account with potentially hundreds of dollars spent. WoW knew this well enough.
With DOTA2 I can just pick a character, pick an in game build guide, then the game highlights things automatically and tells me how to buy items and level the rest of the game. I can watch games through the live streaming client and I can pick a voicecaster specifically for new players who explains the plays more. There's also a donkey guy who delivers all your items to you in battle and various other little quality of life features. I still suck at it, but to me it feels like they went out of their way for casuals.
Though, between DOTA2 and LoL I don't see how heroes has a chance. At least with TF2 and overwatch there is a little room for competition, there's really no good alternative to TF2(that I know of). Dirty Bomb I thought was a freemium nightmare.
The game looks like a ton of fun and I plan to be playing it quite a bit when it comes out. Beta should be coming out soon so make sure you've opted in for the beta!

being a tf2 addict and doing a little competitive in tf2 makes me pretty interested in overwatch. granted its blizzard so it might be really dumbed down, but would love to give it a shot.
Looks like a fun game. Signed up for beta earlier this year, but I just started TF2 yesterday so it'll be interesting to try out something similar!
I'll probably try it. I've played Blizzard games over the years, and while I enjoy them... I notice I never stick with them. I don't know why that is.
