Is this plane the Ilyushin IL-14P? I'm no good at distinguishing planes, though, but I'm good at googling numbers and names. :D

Those are jap markings on the tail and fuselage, and the gunner has the Japanese cover. Obviously, it's a dive bomber. could it be the D3A1? I don't think so, that's to obvious. Besides, the D3A had a closed cockpit. hmm, I'm stumped.

The main purpose of this thread is to get people learning about new/ interesting aircraft. If we are going to make it about "identify this rare rare aircraft" I can play that game and I will find it fun, Others. probably not =)

What I like about this is trying to identify vehicles by characteristics of the plane - a jet, a twin-engine, propeller etc. And then start going from there - nation, approximate time of creation etc. :) But if you just see the number and google it - that limits the learning curve. :P

Anyway, next vehicle is this! :

I didn't know of this vehicle up until now. I wanted to find an interesting plane that has some specific characteristics. Hope you have luck in finding this one!
