Shoot the turret cheeks. When it's looking at you, to the left and the right of the barrel are the cheeks. Shoot the right one as it's looking at you. It has the gunner and it SHOULDN'T be able to shoot back. If you hit it there you can then go for the turret ring. Always hit the turret first.

Well, definitely NOT the drivers hatch :)

Because on some models this hatch is thicker than the UFP (Upper Front Plate) on many Models- on the 194x Models the Hatch is "same" thick as the rest of the front - but at the other Models like the (1st GV.T.BR.) it is 15mm thicker.. and on the STZ BR 4.0 its even 75mm sloped...

Best spots to me to shoot a T-34 is the Turret beside the Mantlet or if you shoot the Hull, try the MG Port -> its fla't and behind/below is ammo. Best hit you can land on a T-34 is on the side between the first and the 2nd wheel (big ones) - almost 100% ammorack detonation.

    good luck :)

    What Sicarian says.

The drivers hatch used to be more reliable, but after WG made angled armor more bouncy (as it should be), it became dicey. Especially if you're shooting with a mid or low velocity gun with only average pen (American 75 hello). The cheeks are much more reliable as they are about the only 90 deg surface you really got on a T34 from the front. But its still risky, they're very small, and if the shot doesn't go in at just right angle it's possible to pen and not hit anything or anyone critical. Always try to have a APHE round to do it with if you got that has the pen capability.

I usually aim for ammo if i get a side shot which is usually between the turret ring and just above the skirt. A lot of the other russians are weaker just under the tracks between the road wheels through the hull. IS series tanks lay rounds on the floor and some in the turret at least historically. Hull shots that fragment will almost always hit ammo and fuel setting it on fire or detonating ammo.
