What's the point
What's the point
Why you say that?
Perseverance mate! I've made many many many videos over the years and not all of them have been liked. I mostly do it as a hobby for myself & share my work to the world. It's an art within itself. If you're not liking it, take a break from it.
Also if you want to create some nice ones or scripted ones, just ask the guys around the channels. I'll help anytime and I'm sure the guys would join in too!
appreciate the words but after this contest its clear what people want. i shouldve read the instructions more clearly i guess. took my weeks to get that video to be as epic as possible even with the restrictions i was limited to. i couldnt do much to it. and events in my life also isnt helping. so im no longer excited for the contest like i was so congrats to winner. or winners. but thanks but i think im done. just another thing i do that isnt the best
Bl4ck, I was once told a long time ago, people can dedicate their whole lives to ONE thing, and still not be the best. Would you rather be good at everything, or the best at one thing?
It's only a video contest for a gaming community. I think you need to unplug and spend some time with your family.

I would say the point is really up to you. I made a few videos because I found it enjoyable (alas due to technical issues I did not have one ready for the contest). Another reason to make them for yourself is if it is offering therapeutic value. Only you can decide if you're having fun making them.
If you're making them to share with a close group of people to enjoy, then you're already succeeding there as I'm certain several WT pilots would attest to.
If you're looking to make a crowd pleaser across a wide audience base, then you have to first start out with some feelers to see what gets their interest and then modify your approach accordingly. The most important part is that this may be completely different than what you personally find to be awesome. You have a much better chance of hitting a home run when you know how the pitches are going to be.
In my case, my enjoyment is the primary motivation and my hope is that I can amuse and entertain those around me with it as well. If I reach those two goals, I am satisfied with my video. Yeah I would love for it to become a hit, but I can still know my video was awesome without the world's validation. 'Best' is subjective and I certainly feel that some of my submissions in previous contests were better than what the votes showed.
You're going through a terrible experience right now, so the main point of anything is what makes you feel better and helps you through this difficult time. I don't know if there is anything that we can really do to help, but if there is, please don't hesitate to ask.

*Shrug* Narrowing was my favorite video out of all those submitted, mine included. That's the one I voted for.
Nimvlar is right in this. Don't make the videos to win the contest. Make them because you're pretty good at them and because you enjoy it.
You'll never be the best at something you quit.

sorry fellas. life the past couple days are hard to come. idk what i want to do just yet. i just want to live one day at a time a see where it goes. i know its just a contest and i wasnt making a big deal to me personally. just hurt a little bit seeing the votes wasnt as i predicted. plus whats all thats happened. just want to be the best i can be at the things i enjoy the most and there are a few things. games, bowling, work, family, etc. my mind is just everywhere right now. ill come back to myself in the coming days
Man you gotta keep grinding! To me all the videos were good, but people can only vote for one. If it's something you enjoy, keep doing your thing!! You say you want to be the best, but you got to realize noone starts out that way, you have to put the hours and days and years of work into it, and in the end it shows through your dedication and the knowledge you gain. Learn from the past and make way for what is to come. You'll be alright man, jus keep doing what YOU love and keep learning from your experiences mannn!!
I've made a lot of music over the years man, and not all of it has been very good, and I've embarrased myself quite a few times on stage in front of crowds of people. But you learn from those things, remember them, and get better and better through all of it. Use what you feel inside you to help make that next fire video, emotion is a wonderful tool, let it fuel you, don't let it get you down. You got this man!!
