Default WT Launcher Sending Something to "malicious website"

I wanted to try out War Thunder this evening, but when I ran the Launcher.exe program for WT, my Malwarebytes software alerted and blocked 5 attempts by the launcher to contact what the malwarebytes software referred to as malicious websites. I promptly stopped the install and deleted all it had installed, including the launcher. But I did a quick search on the web and found references from last year of many people having the same problem. Have any of you had similar problems, or have heard of this issue?

This is a first for me.

Have you tried installing through Steam?

    Wanna-

MalwareBytes see's WT trying to install new files, and brings it up as a Malicious site. I had this when I installed WT on My new machine,as MB is 1 of the 1st things I install on a new rig. My suggestion, merely for "Double layer' protection is as follows-

Use STEAM to download/launch WT. Steam can be found at steampowered.com. It's game launcher/library/etc for STEAM games and all games NOT Origin produced. Use STEAM to dload/maintain WT. Once You dload WT it'll again, alert to a "Malicious website". click "Ignore/cancel/ok' whichever is the option given to ok the dload. Once loaded in,to assuage any worries, use ur anti-virus and a MB scan to determine there were no malicious file loads. then,VOILA, Ur good. Some tips on STEAM/WT usage
1-U can manage all ur games there. New Dloads/files/etc are automatically detected/dloaded by STEAM
    2-STEAM can recover lost/fragmented files via library/game title-right click/properties/Verify game cache tab.
3-Most STEAM games offer 50% DLC at one point/another,including STEAM only incentives/% off/and bonuses.

I've used STEAM it's entire life. If you need help, etc Please, feel free to ask.

    good luck

I did not have this problem
but the War Thunder download is basically a torrent download
torrents can be detected as malware
and yes the launcher willl contact website because it needs to download from torrent sites, allthough it will probably use the official WT torrent download sites I think
so I thinks thats the problem here

Good suggestion, Barney. I installed it through Steam and didn't get a single warning or alert. Thanks.

You have to add the launcher to the exceptions list. Also aces.exe.
When the notice comes up, there should be some kind of option to
ignore or add to exceptions. I get that from my AVG and just click ignore.
MB works pretty much the same.
    Good luck
