Does it have to be a laptop. You sacrifice a lot on the price to performance ratio in order to get a gaming laptop.

Building a desktop will be far beetter, but if you must have a gaming laptop, then you are looking at units in the $1500 range such as http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...9SIA4P02CM5300

Due to power efficiency improvements on the nvidia side, they are currently a far better choice than AMD/ATI since their mobile GPU's perform very close to older gen desktop GPU's http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-....126694.0.html

Suggestion: Don't get Alienware. They claim to be gaming computers so they charge so much extra and they are crap compared to things like custom computers.

Mokona is right, you may want a desktop if you plan to game. Statistics that I've seen also show that desktops last longer than laptops, and in most situations, are less costly over time due to not needing replacement.

No, there not, They are a propriator of Dell, They massively overcharge for parts you could buy for your own laptop and install for half the price(sometimes less). They also tend to use alot of Proprietary parts, IE: Parts that are unique to that Model or Just Alienware Laptops/Desktops. DO NOT GET Alienware.

If your looking for a new laptop(Thats not from a "boutique" builder, see other list for those, but be aware they are NOT cheap, even at starting prices, and are still usually more expensive than buying from Company's listed next-->) go with a brand like MSI,Gigabyte,ASUS, or Sager.

    * I recommend getting one of these laptops that has has good compatibility & room for upgrades and expansion, IE: Has Internal M.2(1 or multiple M.2 Slots, you can actually RAID0/1 Them just like Any other SSD/HDD), Space for x2 SSD's/Laptop Hard-drives(Incase you want to get an HDD + Boot SSD, or x2 SSD's/HDD's), ETC

    1) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834152877

    2) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...9SIA4P02TH7278

    3) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...09&ignorebbr=1

If you've got a big enough budget and dont mind spending a price premium, then there are 2-3 good Boutique Laptop/Desktop Company's: SEE BELOW

** The only difference between these "Boutique"(I don't know why they are called that, or where it came from, but that's what there commonly called, probably because there desktop's usually try and go all out with cosmetics like Lighting setups/Systems, Hand-sleeved Cables and Meticulous cable management, Anodized Paint Jobs[Yes, like on car's]ETC) system vendors/builders and alienware is that there ARE NOT subcomany's of a massive OEM like dell,HP,Gateway,ETC. Their business is in building/designing custom(They use the same hardware a builder would use on the desktops, and alot of the parts in a desktop that are interchangeable like M.2 SSD's, 3.5" and 2.5" Drives, Even Desktop GPU's sometimes,ETC) They use in their laptops; Although remember they have to make profit somehow so they will charge you much higher than it would cost to just buy the component(even if you buy a base laptop and upgrade the SSD/HDD, RAM, CPU, ETC) and install it yourself, alot higher sometimes, + Labor.

    1) http://www.originpc.com/gaming/laptops/eon15-x/

    2) http://www.maingear.com/custom/noteb...se15/index.php

** Like I said, there very expensive, I'd still go with an MSI or an ASUS/Lenovo and just add/upgrade any parts you need to
