Default AOD - The Smartest Organization on the Internet!

I know this looks like a lot, but it really isn't. All you have to do is type the number/letter of the questions you know.

For example, if question 2A is "A shortcut makes stuff simpler" and you knew that, you would reply:
    2A

Just list the number/letter of the questions you knew you could do. All the questions are things we've all done, but may not have known we could have done an easier way.

Note that all of what I'm posting is things I've learned from experience. I got none of this off the internet. Also, all this is from my experience with Windows. Some of this may not work on Macs.

Lets start with the easy stuff, then get to things you probably don't know (in my opinion).

    Questions:

1A. Pressing ctrl + alt + delete on Windows gives you a variety of helpful options, including Task Manager.

1B. While in task manager, you can easily stop certain background processes and monitor your network usage, CPU usage, etc.

2A. If you right click on a shortcut and click properties, it will tell you what file that shortcut will open/execute.

3A. All file types stand for something. All URL endings (.com, .net, .gov, etc)

    3B. .exe is executable.

    3C. .com is community.

4A. Most search engines have techniques that help you search for certain terms. For example, if you want to learn about Abraham Lincoln's childhood, but not his term as president, you could search "Abraham Lincoln Childhood -President". The minus excludes all results that include the word after the minus. In this case "President".

    5A. There are 8 Bits in a byte. A bit is a 1 or 0.

6A. Remember when your DS/Gameboy's game stopped working so you blew on the chip to remove the dust? Remember how that always made the game magically work again? Remember how you also degraded the lifespan of that game, causing you to have to blow on it more frequently? Now you know, you didn't have to blow on it, just eject and insert again!

    7A. A Gigabyte is 1024 megabytes, not 1000.

8A. Anybody could realize this with some thinking, but a 3D game isn't actually 3D... It is 2D and shaded to look 3D.

9A. Pressing the Delete key deletes the text in front of the cursor. Backspace deletes the text behind it.

10A. To figure out if an online illusion is legit, right click on the illusion and download it. If the downloaded file is a .png or .bmp etc, then it it's legit. If it is .gif, movie files, etc then it isn't legit.

Thats too easy? Most people would get most or all of that. Those are the basics, but easier ways to do the basics.

I'm about to go to bed, so I'll add more in the morning, much harder stuff. But for the next 11 hours, goodnight.

    Example Reply:

    I know the answers to 3A, 3B, 3C, 5A, 7A, and 10A.
    So my reply would be:

    "3A, 3B, 3C, 5A, 7A, 10A"

    4A. Boolean Search.

6A. Nintendo had cart problems long before the DS, I was "fixing" the carts by blowing on them for The NES long ago.

7A. While this is true the hard drive manufacturers have adopted 1000 mb as the standard to reduce confusion, so for all practical purposes a Gb is measured as 1000 Mb.

8A. While this was true at one point, there's been several iterations of stereoscopic 3D games which are as 3D as any 3D Movie. The game or the movie uses two cameras for real 3D and Remasters use a pixel shift to mimic the second eye viewpoint tricking the mind into seeing 3D. Avatar is a good example of what can be rendered in true 3D digitally.

    I'll finish there.

For 4A, instead of using fancy vocab for all of this, I was keeping it simple.

For 7A, Cool, I didn't know that. Though, currently, is the official GB 1000, or 1024?

For 8A, I was saying your computer screen is flat, so it isn't 3D. So no matter what happens on your computer screen, you can't reach through it and touch anything, it doesn't have depth. Games are reffered to as 3D games, and to your computer are pretty much 3D, but your screen isn't.

It does have a purpose, to make sure people are accountable for what they say, and have a time frame to correct any mistakes they may have made.
