Default Pro Tip from a Kroger Bagger

So yesterday was my first day as a Bagger at Kroger. I've got a tip for everyone: I know reusable bags take up space, but for the love of god please don't put a reusable bag zipped inside a reusable bag zipped inside of a reusable bag etc. some people do this with 15-20 bags and the zippers always get stuck. It takes so long.

On a side note Kroger is an awesome place to work. If anyome has some interesting/funny/wierd/horrer stories from work leave them below. It would be awesome to read.

I was a line medic in afghanistan in 2010 with Task Force Thor and was tasked to a marine unit (I was Army) because their coremen got blowed up. We were taking fire and a near by marines trigger finger got shot off and his finger went flying into the dirt. I ran over and grabed the finger on the way to the marine and when i got to him to patch him up he snatched the finger out of my hand and put it in his pocket. He said, "I aint leavin on no fucking chopper" and proceeded to switch firing hands and return fire. One of my favorite war time experiences still never look at marines the same.

I worked at Kroger in the fall of 2014. It seems I picked the worst time in the years before and since to apply there. I requested night stock and got it, with the hiring manager telling me that on average we worked from 9pm-3~4am, which I was perfectly fine with. The next 3 weeks result in me working about 10hrs a day except for on the low stock nights (there were 2 a week, and I always had at least one of them off), so I ended up quitting because for those hours I could get better pay, plus there was a situation with transportation availability for my family in the early morning. Worst part is almost immediately after I leave they seemed to have completely shuffled shifts and managers and do stocking during day hours and I haven't seen my old shift manager since. I'm considering re-applying if I can get assurances that I won't get those kinds of shifts anymore, because the work environment was great.
