    Default Gameplay/Joystic or Mouse

So i am having some trouble with my FPS .I play at arround 10-19 FPS in low-custom graphics and the problem i have is that i cant aim and follow..or lead my target.I am using a mouse and keyboard and i was wondering if the use of a joystick would help me get over this problem...i have tried nearly everything so i am open to ideas and possible solutions !!

I have no real experience with a joystick in this game, but as a general rule, keyboard & mouse are the most simple means to play this game.
For me, the way I play the game (keyboard & mouse, my joystick is not usable in this game) I've learned that I need to lead a bit in front of the lead indicator (depending on the type of ammo & the distance to the target). Frankly, it's a bit difficult to say in words, trial & error will learn you more about how to play it.

Perhaps a player with a low FPS can give you more tips on how to aim better?

i dont have trouble shooting or leading.I know how to play the game ..when i have good FPS..but now that i dont i am simply useless cause i cant even follow my sights ..For example i lose track of where my aim is going .Maybe a joystick would help me follow my aim cause i dont have to move my mouse and then lose it amongst the graphics

some say joysticks are harder to aim with. Me i use mouse and keyboard. My suggestion would be to make sure your pilots stamina is maxed. that would allow for target ridicule to line up more quickly and more accurately all the time

Using a joystick will not improve your fps.

You have to get used to a lower fps and mouse/keyboard or joystick use , doesnt change your fps
Fps has to do with your graphics card

    True!

Also, the only way to actually be able to aim with a joystick is to have a "heavy" one made for WT. And you will still need to learn the game all over again. The only place I find my joystick useful is in "simulator" or "full real" as it used to be called.
I hate forums. Don't ask why. End of discussion.

If truely FPS limited I suggested lowering his screen resolution and/or color bit depth. Instant FPS bump....

I only use a joystick if I'm flying simulator, other then that mouse and keyboard is superior in my experience

I get your question and NO, coming from just using a Keyboard and mouse to a joystick to 'help' with aim at low fps is a terrible idea, specially if you plan on just doing Arcade or Realistic. It will make you explode trying to aim with one especially at low frames in AB and RB, unless you usually play Simulator then it might improve but just to aim better in general? No, It will give you a nightmare like I said... I usually play on 170-230 Frames on Highest setting so your graphics card is a little outdated as mine is only a 760 OC.

In conclusion, Save your money for a GPU as it is much better in the long run rather trying to 'aim' with a Joystick and pilot with not even a steady 20 frames.

I've done some math on how framerate affects aim accuracy. For example, if a plane moves 360kph (100m/s), at 30fps that's 3.3m every frame. As you can see it gets worse at higher speeds.

    to clarify-

FPS is a matter of "engine' size..that is to say,You CAN put a 300lb Gorilla in a Toyota truck, and it WILL haul said Gorilla to the zoo..at approx 25.3mph...not to mention the Gorilla shit in the bed of the truck. However,If You use a damned Lorry,You can get the Gorilla to the zoo MUCh faster, and less Gorilla shit in Your truck...that is to say..

You need a new Graphics card. You're trying to play a "Gorilla" game on a Kia Truck,Mate. In order for the Truck/GPU to carry the Gorilla/Game,It Must have the correct load/Size-Speed/Capability spec's. Turn down EVERYTHING on Your "options" for the game. No shadows,no smoke, flat color bit depth, all of it. Sure,it'll look like 2 hamsters drawing a air-battle,but You may get "Playable' FPS' that allows You to aim/lead,etc.

    Good luck
