    Default New GPU

I need some help. I'm debating if I should get a GTX 980TI or wait until next generation. But I am planning on doing a new build in the next couple of years.

Yeah, totally depends on what you are running now...

Case in point: I'm running a GTX 770 4GB stock speeds, and with a 3770K and 32GB of ram, get 130-160 FPS unrestricted. I'm sure a 980Ti would boost that, but I don't have a monitor (or eyes) that could tell the difference.

Point being... great to have the latest and greatest, but don't break the bank for it. If you have more dated stuff, that changes everything! Let us know what you have have (CPU/MEM/GPU) and we can point you in the right direction! There are a LOT of good minds when it comes to hardware/software here.

Hmmm... What settings and resolution are you on? I have a 4690k and a 980 ti and my framerate is similar on ultra at 1080p.

If you're running a non 29x radeon or a 600 series nvidia I would say the upgrade is worth it now, there aren't even rumors of a new nvidia line being announced anytime soon. I plan on getting a 970 when my birthday rolls around in a little over a month.

Also Dalek, I run a 3770 at 4ghz, 12gb of ram and a 670 with a little bit of an OC and I get over 80-130 on all medium/ultra mesh at 1080p. Anything newer and you're starting to run into PCIe's bottleneck for framerate.
